I'm pretty sure Gamora was hated in prison because of her association to Ronan and something about many of the prisoners (eg Draxx) having lost family at Ronan's hands. Rocket said something specifically to that nature, could find the quote.

As far as Groot killing, he only killed bad guys, the blue skinned would-be buttrapist in prison only got his nosed/brain picked, but survived.

Seems this is one time Marvel didn't copy DC.

edit: I think every death at the hands of one of the GotG crew was a "bad guy".

Meh. Splitting hairs like juggerman said.

Never said having similar plots was a bad thing. Just pointing out SS isnt some revolutionary original thing.

Just like Avatar had basically the same story as The Last Samurai and Dances with wolves.

Doesn't make any of them horrible movies, but they were similar.

Damn. This kinda sounds cool, if true. BIG SPOILERS.

sounds like someone looking for reasons to justify the Joker's shitty ass physical appearance.

I doubt it's real. How many movies did Leto sign up for?

no idea.

I posted that theory on July 14

Theory on the "Hot Topic" Joker. (not by me)

Spoiler:
Jason Todd is the new joker.

>looks visually younger than Bruce Wayne
>teeth busted by the crowbar beating he took from the original Joker and has to have grills now
>went nuts after being tortured by the real joker
>tortures Harleem Quinzel (seen on the trailer) so she can become crazy like he did when he was tortured
>the robin suit was shown in the trailer after Batfleck asks "how many good guys stayed that way?"
>has an DAMAGED tattoo on his forehead, well, you know, because he was DAMAGED by the original joker
>has a dead robin tattoo on his arm
>Had the tattoos forcefully put on his by OG Joker.
>new Joker emerges, an insane Robin who Bruce presumed was dead, during/after the events of BvS. It would explain that 'YOU KILLED YOUR FAMILY' newspaper cover, because the real Joker doesn't know Batman's true identity.

Sounded stupid as fuq at first, but this wouldn't be so bad and would explain the "un-joker" like things going on with this Leto version.
Still stupid non the less but could be a bit more tolerable than what it seems to be now.

*late pass*

ermmvin

I'm trying to avoid any spoilers, but sometimes we get knuckleheads posting spoilers in the subject line on IMDB!

Not really a spoiler since it's just a rumor.

See: I've heard that Affleck is actually playing a younger Alfred who time travelled to the future and became Batman

Anybody read Suicide Squad's source material? Because it's ****ed up.

I didn't say it was splitting hairs. I said I can see why it might look like that but it really isn't. Suicide Squad would be more like if the villians from Avengers were captured by SHIELD and forced to go on missions. The guys from GotG were technically criminals but they weren't "bad people" and they did what they felt was right for the good of others.

The Guardians were lovable rascals. I wouldn't call them villainous at all. That flick will be hard to top.

But Task Force X is made up of out and out murderers. Definitely worse.

Exactly

Never said the 2 films were exactly alike. I said they had a similar plot.

Of coarse GOTG had "lovable" characters. The tone of the movie makes it hard for you to not like at least of one the characters.
Suicide Squad will have a darker tone, yes. But i guarantee that there would be more than 1 "likable" character in the bunch. Betting Will Smith will be pretty likable by the general audience.

Similar plot, "different coat of paint"

Thats like someone trying to argue that the Avatar story is nothing like The Last Samurai story.
"Giant blue aliens look nothing like Japanese", Totally different planets", etc, etc.

Superficial changes doesn't mean "The plots are not similar"

Similar plot, "different coat of paint"

Dont know why this is so hard to understand barker

Yeah but they don't. Again "not so bad guys" deciding to do good isn't anything new or specific to the super hero mold. But bad guys being forced to do good under the threat of death is completely different than the standard movie M.O.

Don't know why this is so hard to understand 😬

It's about as similar to GotG as it is to Avengers.

INHUMAN YOU ARE WRONG.

But not really.

What does the level of "bad" have to do with anything?
Im not arguing what criminals are worst lol. Or who is more bad ass or who has killed more people.

Both movies are NOT exactly the same. "Both movies have similar plots".

Yeah i was totally wrong. So is IMDB.

My apologies if its too hard to accept that what you once thought was a totally rad and original, "never been done before" concept for a film, in fact wasnt those things. 😬
