Ayer recently stated about there being a bit of pressure on this due to the negative reception of BvS, and how it was never intended to be a film with that kind of pressure on it.

This was supposed to be DC's GOTG type project, that if it did end up being a mega hit, that would be a great surprise for them. Now it seems it HAS to be a mega hit for them, which is unfortunate.

There is still some people predicting less than 70 on the box office forums and it could get that. If it gets 80 million or up, that's a huge win. 250 domestic and 400 ww would be excellent. We'll see.

Golgo you have no idea about this stuff and already made excuses for the lackluster performance of Batman v. Superman which has contributed to superhero fatigue. Way to **** things up, DC heroes.

Depends on budget. There was a rumor it cost $200-250mill in which case it will need to gross $500-$600mill.

Honestly though main thing is it's received well by the fans and GA. That's the Win DC desperately needs right now.

Deadpool is more popular than everyone in SS that's not Batman or Joker, he's a popular comic character.

To the general audience? Most people werent demanding a DP movie. It was the near flawless marketing that propelled DP past 100 million OW. Most people did not see that coming.

Not saying it will be, but it Could Be.

The GA had no clue who Deadpool was either. Will Smith is a bigger star than Reynolds. The Joker seems to be much more than just a cameo, and Harley Quinn has a huge comic book fan base much like Deadpool.

Yea, I could drop out of college and become a billionaire like Bill Gates, but let's be real, it won't happen. Bringing up the highest grossing R-rated movie in history to show that SS could be huge at the BO really makes no sense. This movie will probably do average comic movie numbers.

^ Its the Highest Rated R movie now. Last year Deadpool was a sole C-Lister.

Will Smith isn't in his hey day but still a bigger draw than Reynolds. Joker is an A-List villain. Harley Quinn is a fan favorite much like Deadpool.

Not saying SS WILL be the next Deadpool. Just saying the Potential is there.

your statement here is exactly why I do not believe this open big, let alone make a lot of money... The negative reaction people had towards Bats v Supes is going to hurt this film., coupled with the fact that Smith isn't the box office draw he once was.... I'm sure actual tracking numbers from respectable webssites will be known soon

BTW, Harley is pretty damn popular. From the numerous comics, Batman TAS, and merchanides, I say she's right up there with DP.

Yes, now, but the GA didn't beforehand. Someone was dressed up as Harley at the OW of BVS. She has a lot of fans. People who liked Batman will go and people who are interested in the Joker will be a big draw as well.

It failed both critically and beneath expectations. 😂

I don't know who WILL GO see it. These things are hard to predict. I'm just saying I agree it has that Deadpool POTENTIAL..
