Meh long term buzz is over rated. What's the point when you can't even see it? This ain't Star Wars. And Look how long the BvS buzz went on for to no avail in the end.
They should leave most the marketing for the last couple of weeks.
That said this hasn't had the marketing of something like Deadpool.
No real buzz? It's dominating social media like no other film this summer. The only film that dominated social media like SS was Avengers: Age of ultron.

Marketing has actually been brilliant. From trailers to posters, etc...
What film that has this much buzz has opened less to 95 million opening weekend?

My question to anyone here is what movie in the past opened up less than 90 million or so that has done extremely well in social buzz? Suicide S could be the first one, but I don't see this opening up to less than 90 million. 80 would be solid numbers, but kind of disappointing.

I think it's irrelevant Zack. What's important for the DCEU to gain some much needed goodwill right now is that people Love this movie. Not that this movie gets a $150mill OW, which will seem Great but Ultimately won't help them if it's just considered an average movie by both critics and fans.
You should be praying for great reception, not for great box office numbers.

This. Between MoS and BvS they have like $1.5 billion in terms of box office numbers already, yet the general attitude towards the DCEU is not exactly very positive, as things stand. They need a movie that has both mass fan appeal and positive critical reception. A film to restore people's confidence in the franchise. Not just make a quick buck.
Hell, if we only look at Box Office numbers, Furious 7 is one of the greatest films of all time... 😆
^ Yeah plus the goodwill of a Loved movie would help their box office more in the Long Term anyway. That's what's helped Marvel make Billions. It was how loved the first IM, Thor and Cap films were which lead to Avengers being one of the biggest movies of all time.
Just looking at box office MOS and BvS might seem like greater triumphs than IM1 and Thor 1. But fact is those early Marvel films worked massively better for Marvel than anything the DCEU has done so far.
Let's hope SS can give DC some of that mojo.
Oh, I agree, but it's a tad bit hard to say if the GA hated the first two. I think it would be the opposite. I'll just put this here. BOOM!

I agree the Hate is overstated, but they've certainly not generated the kind of Goodwill Marvel did in their Phase I. That's what they need more than more than $ right now. If they do it right, then the $ will naturally come later.
