Funny thing is IM1 grossed more domestically than MOS. And both IM1 and IM2 sold more tickets than BvS domestically.

Can't compare worldwide due to China having expanded so massively over the last few years.

So there's no comparison at all to MCU's Phase I IMO. Especially when you consider Marvel used B-List characters whereas DC have used the Big 3 already, and are capitalizing on those 3 throughout their Phase I.

Marvel is a brand now too. More people turned up to watch movies like GOTG and Ant-Man BECAUSE they knew these were Marvel movies. It's gotten a reputation for putting out good movies. WB needs to do that with their DC movies.

Nah, people have short terms memories. There was huge buzz for justice League and Wonder Woman at comic con. All because of a little humor. It's rinse and repeat here. It's the same with a lot of big blockbusters.

Disagree. Look at Ghostbusters for example. It's a prime example of what happens when you alienate your core audience.

Not as bad as BvS there's at least a modicum of luke warm reception

BvS had some of that too.

I think we can stop the comparisons to Marvel now.

Well, I am hoping that it's a case like Wacraft. A film that critics hated, but I actually enjoyed quite a lot. Because if this is another stinker, after I got my hopes up, I'm writing off the DCEU.

It's common sense not to keep the same director on for more than 1 or 2 movies unless they are doing an outstanding job. But at this point it's just getting ridiculous. Who decided to go make him the Kevin Feige and why would they do that?

Geoff Johns should be taking the Kevin Feige-type role here, IMO (if anyone is going to do it). Definitely not Snyder.

yet its Marvel laughing all the way to bank...

jeez in reading the last page and a half and one of my sisters telling me that she has read 4 different reviews for this, this could turn out to be another Bats V Supes.. Open big and fall flat on its ass.... This is clearly NOT what the DCEU needs but hey, maybe all the idiots can stop comparing the DCEU to Marvel... Marvel knows what they are doing , while WB clearly doesn't

Thank you for saying WB

Trolls are having a field day. DCEU is pretty much done at this point.

Trolls from both camps. I see the usual "payed reviewers" or "company bias" nonsense as well.

I think WB as a studio has major problems right now.

Forgot the video in my earlier post....

👆

The DC cinematic universe just isn't in the same league as Marvel's. Someone keep an eye out on Golgo because I worry about his mental health.

Yes, when you reboot a comedy and put four talented female comic actors in the roles instead of four males ones, making the men damsels in distress for a change, upending the stereotype/trope. SHUDDER! So unforgivable. 🙄 The vicious misogyny levels fanboys reached over that made me cringe, and ashamed to be part of fandom.

David Ayer can curse who he wants. At least none of his 'brother filmmakers' at Marvel ever stole the heroics of the British Forces from WWII to make revisionist history.

Maybe if they didn't respond to the complaints of people that didn't like the trailer by branding them all sexists, more people might have seen the movie.

Either way, i'm not trying to go off topic. It was an example to prove a point.

I don't know. The general reaction so far is positive. SS will open big, so let's see how the legs are in the second weekend.

They could have avoided almost all of the hate by simply making a good movie, they only have themselves to blame.

Since when is 35% considered positive?
