If Johns had any real power, we'd see it in the movies coming out. The dude is as nuts about the Silver Age as a person can be. If he were truly wielding any sort of power, we'd know it.

Do get that feeling, but from the story it seem Johns was only brought into Suicide Squad post production, to clean some things up a bit.

I wouldn't be surprised tbh.

I’ve never understood why people were so bound and determined that Johns should be involved in a Feige like capacity. Sure, he could advise the filmmakers but he truly shouldn’t be heavily involved. Johns, of course, writes comics, which is a very different medium than movies. Instead, WB should find a filmmaker that is knowledgeable and appreciates comics rather than a comic author.

What the hell did you people expect ? Honestly, some of you being shocked is kind of insulting to yourselves based off Dc's previous cinematic history.

I was more excited at the prospect of a competent filmmaker like David Ayer getting involved

He knows how to craft a good story that's faithful to the characters. Lord knows WB needs that before everything goes **** up.

lol reading these last few pages has me laughing...

not worried about Rogue One, nor should anyone..

as for this, this has the makings another Bats V Supes, in that it will open big and then start to fall flat on its ass....

so that being said here is a question.. Has David Ayer come out and said that there will be a 3 hour ulimate cut of this?????

@ares:

Johns is a good story guy. It's not like he'd direct a movie or anything.

@Rob:

Yeah Johns only got that role of co-running DC Films very recently. We wouldn't see the effect of that until The Flash and Aquaman movies.

He can craft a good comic story. What works for a comic won't necessarily work for a film (or vice versa).

A good story can work in any medium. It's the director that adapts it appropriately into live action

Of coarse there will be. That has been their gimmick with their blue-ray releases.
Guaranteed that the marketing push this time of the SS blue-ray is that it will have all the deleted Joker scenes.

This is, quite simply, not true at all. Even something as basic as time constraints show this.

Which movie? I was talking about Wonder Woman.

I was too. Geoff Johns "era" will start with WW.

He writes, more often than not, good stories, comics or not.

Read his work on GL, Superman and JL. Those origins would very easily work as movies, and would most likely be superior to what we've gotten so far if adapted properly.

On to the next movie on the roster so early? "This one will be the ONE trust me". 😬

I've read much of it. TBH, I find him to be little more than a decent author. His origin for JL was rather bland, I felt, and the adaptation (JL: War) wasn’t particularly strong. I’ll admit I do love his Superman stories though (specifically his Braniac one) and would love to see him used as an “ideas man” for Superman. But even then I’d much rather see them reach out to someone like Grant Morrison or Mark Waid. Regardless, no, I’m still strongly against the notion that he would make a good overseer over the entire DCEU.

What does time constraints have to do with the story and characterisations?

Don't forget he has experience working on live action (on Tv).

Anyway he'd be a big improvement on Zack Snyder running the DCEU, that's for sure.

Story was by Zack Snyder though, so looks like he's pretty much been in charge throughout their Phase I.

Plus Terrible casting IMO. That will be a hinder.

Um? Everything?

This was one if the major problems with BvS. The story was far too big for a single film.

Zack isn't the sole one responsible for the story. That's why GJ took over from the beginning.

Hm... disappointed with the reviews coming in for this. Not unexpected, but still disappointing.

Doesn't mean it can't still be fun.

Been hearing bad things... le sigh
