Origin? Origin isn't great, but it by no means doubles system requirements.

EA Desktop Beta.

Origin I think is something else. Or if not, Gamepass isn't working with it because it tries to download the beta and open it up.

I think I used Origin for Watch Dogs 1 and 2, don't recall any problems.

Yeah...The EA Play games in Game Pass need the EA Desktop Beta.

Geara 5 at least runs well.

Really wish Marcus would slap some sense into his kid though. I'd relegate him as AI and take the robot if I could.

Senator Armstrong still best final boss ever.

The VA must have had so much fun with that role.

I haven't tried it, but it can't be that bad. Can it?

FF7 Remake on PC. Loving it. Chapter 16 atm. Should finish it before Hitman comes out on Thursday.

As soon as I started up EA Desktop Beta: "EA Desktop Beta is taking longer then usual to load. Please wait while we fix this."

Also on EA Desktop Beta:

"Download progress Jedi Fallen Order: 0%"

7 hours later.

Looks like I accidentally picked synthesis.

Thought I was meant to go towards the beam and make a decision, and Shep ends up throwing himself in.

You can't use Origin instead?

Destroy > all.

I don't think so....If you have Game Pass on the PC...the EA Play portion of the Game Pass uses EA Desktop Beta.

Though...I'm not sure when EA Play was on PC Game Pass....must of been added recently.

Maybe I'll get lucky and Fallen Order will be an Epic Game giveaway soon.

When I used EA Play to play Fallen Order, I did so through Steam. It worked fine for me.

Never touched any EA Beta bollocks.

Did you do it through Gamepass?

Because Gamepass apparently requires the desktop beta app for EA games.

Which means we're effectively paying to beta test the cursed thing. 🤨

No gamepass, no. I went through Steam directly. Paid through Steam, installed through Steam etc. It did show up in my Origin library mind you, and might have had to open through Origin to launch, but that's as far as it would have gone.

If a good sale comes along I'll probably end up just buying it.

Only reason I haven't is because I was considering waiting on getting a console, but I'm so used to playing games on low settings with my laptop and going back to the 360 library (Majority of games barely played through), doubt I'll ever get around to it.

The game regularly goes on sale (I used some of my Christmas credit to pick it up for like 15 euro a few weeks ago) so sooner or later you should get something good.

Fired up F.E.A.R. FER.

Forgot how it doesn't do checkpoints, one stupid death can undo a good half hour of progress.

Tried a self imposed rule against using more then one medkit per stage. Forget about it. Even abusing the bullet time, they chip away at you around corners, from long distances, and there's always one or two guys you didn't notice in the shadows.

Xenoblade Chronicles on 3DS.

Decent game but these quests are boggin me down.

First time getting past the water treatment plant in F.E.A.R. Anyone who says keyboard and mouse are better than a gamepad must have the hands of a surgeon, I'll take all my functions being easily accessible over fumbling with a keyboard any day.

The game is a legend, but it really had some odd tone decisions. Mainly the cornball civilians, like the fat Cheezy Poofs nerd, is out of place in the setting.

Like anything it takes practice. Fumbling eventually becomes smooth, easy access to more keys. That and mouse beats the right stick any day of the week.

Are you playing some special version of FEAR?
No checkpoints...but has quick-save.

Keyboard/mouse is a better control scheme for shooters on PC. No doubt about it....but recent cross-play games have shown the controllers auto-aim feature can provide an advantage.
