Arguing based off what we see not theorizing on the amount of ships. Only what is shown in each trilogy.
So you don't think the Empire had millions of ships?

You're like Rogue Jedi just a memory.
What does this even mean? I understand you are saying the person doesn't post much and is like a memory, but why is that like a "rogue jedi" ?
Originally posted by SurturYes, I do but we aren't speculating. We go by what we see on screen.

Rogue Jedi is a former poster who was shamed off the board and is just brought up for mocking purposes.

RogueJedi is the member now named "RJ2.0"; like most other people he's mocked quanchi for his idiocy and quanchi being quanchi is still buttmad over it.

Well the trailer is doing well. Star Trek deserves to have a monster hit. If pile of shit franchises like Fast and Furious and Transformers can have big hits, why not Star Trek?
What do you consider a big hit? The latest two Trek films both earned more than twice their budget in the box office.
Though I suspect that had something to do with some of the problems this latest film had. Movie studios today don't just want success..they want every movie to be some massive billion dollar earning movie like a comic book film. Which hey it's cool to want success, but the problem is when you get disappointed even though a film was highly successful.
Most movies aren't going to do the big numbers super hero movies do. Star Wars did, but that franchise is a lot more beloved IMO. I think movie studios will again be disappointed if they are expecting those kind of numbers from this movie. If the movie does similar numbers to the two previous films it would be silly not to do a sequel.

Exactly though. We see a bunch of ships on screen and I would think you would factor in the fact we're only being shown a tiny part of the overall war.

Originally posted by SurturSame with Trek though. We know the Klingons for one have plenty of ships but unless they are referenced or shown it isn't fair game. Have to keep it limited otherwise it's just hey I bet there's millions type nonsense.

We both know the Kelvin timeline is going to spank the Ot trilogy.
possible $ 60 million dollar opening...
