There were a few cool revelations this episode...
-Whis is the fastest flyer in the universe. Most already figured as much, but it's cool to have confirmation.
-The Kaioshin create planets/life in the universe. Beerus destroys them.
-Beerus has only been awake for half a day, and already destroyed 8.5 planets.
-Beerus still freaks the f*ck out at the fact that someone else managed to kill Freeza. The fact that the friggin God of Destruction holds Freeza in such high-regard tells you how damn powerful he was.
-Only Gods/Kaioshin can sense Godly ki. Again, just nice to have additional confirmation.
-Beerus is who originally locked Elder Kaioshin in the Z-Sword. This is strange because in the manga, Elder Kaioshin said the being that trapped him in the Sword(who was unidentified at the time) was weaker than Majin Buu--but we know Beerus is obviously MUCH more powerful than him. Meh, retcon I guess.

Possibly, I however find it more logical that at the point of Majin Buus rampage, Beerus would have operated on the same level as the Supreme Kais (making Buu the stronger). I think, had the Supreme Kais not been killed by Majin Buu, given their powerlevel when they died, then they would have, with training, been around Beerus. But this is just my opinion.
[edit]
Never mind.
Per VIZ, Elder Kaioshin said that the person who locked him away in the Z-Sword was "almost as terrible as Boo!":
I think the non-canon scanlation says something about Buu being more powerful, which is what I remembered... But that's neither here nor there.
Suffice to say: nothing was retconned. So far as we know, Beerus/Whis have always been the top-dogs in the universe. 👆

The "terrible" comment could be a reference to how evil/bad Beerus is/was rather than a comment about how powerful Beerus is.
To be fair, Elder Kaioshin said the same thing about Buu:
The potential to destroy the universe, while impressive, doesn't mean much if we aren't given a timeframe in which said destruction will occur(ie. how long it will take to accomplish this.) He might be able to do it in one shot, or it might take him eons. Very ambiguous.
Elder Kaioshin said that Buu would make his way "here" eventually(ie. come to the Kaioshin planet/realm sooner or later.) And the Kaioshin planet/realm exists outside of the prime DBZ universe all together.
So basically he said that Buu would destroy the universe, and then start destroying that which exists beyond the universe.
