It would be really good if Goten was that. Also two best friends becoming enemies. If he is Goten, what was the reason he went on the dark side?.

Goku died, though. Goten was never born in Trunks timeline.

Also yeah Goten shouldn't have been born, but it'd be so much more interesting if it was him.

I thought the time line changed when all the hero's lived after the Cell saga. Wasn't the the reason Trunks went into the past anyways? To change the future?

Yeah but it didn't change his, just stopped his future from repearting itself. And it gave him the power to kill his future's threats.

Time "didn't" change. The show was very clear about this.

Trunks didn't go back in time, he went to an alternate dimension. This is why "his" androids and Cell still existed, and he had to kill them with his new found power.

Cell Saga Cell also wasn't from that dimension. That version killed his Trunks, after he managed to destroy 17 and 18, and went to the mainstream timeline.

So basically, there were three versions of Cell total in the Cell Saga, including the gestating version in Dr. Gero's lab, which was destroyed. And the main villain wasn't even that universes, he was an alternate version.

I thought this episode was absolutely incredible. 9.5/10, imo. The animation was what I've always hoped Super would be, and not that blocky, rushed garbage they threw at us early on. Thank god for that.

Was anyone else pissed though, that Mai died so early? I was kinda excited for her to get shipped with Future Trunks...

Black is ruthless though, which is just what we need from a DBZ villain. I think that sheer animosity is what was so attractive to fans, when it comes to villains like Frieza, and Kid Buu. Definitely excited to see him again, especially if Vegeta gets the limelight for a bit to take him down in the end. Or the Omni-King. Seeing him in action would be cool too.

@ the spoiler tag question, yeah, kinda was too.. But now I get why Battle of the Gods cutely showed younger Mai with kid Trunks for some moments during the party. It was foreshadowing to that.

Still don't get though why the artstyle has future Trunks' hair more blue than before. I guess to make him look more different from the other Trunks?

Goten was technically concieved the same year the androids showed up. Maybe without having to train for them goku and chichi got busy a little earlier. Chichi could have kept him in hiding...

I'm glad about that too, lmao. I was really disappointed when it first came out, and I found myself accepting fan-animations as superior to it. 😆

Yeah, I get that. But I still was hoping Trunks would at least get a break, ya' know? At this point, his story line is as tragic as some of the saddest/most tragic series out there. Like Higurashi, Clannad, Elfen Lied, Tokyo Ghoul, etc. I have more sympathy for Future Trunks than the main characters of those series, lol.

Yeah, I wondered about that too. Maybe they'll chalk it up to bad lighting in the future? 😆

Hm, nice job drawing the comparisons. I just don't think it's Goten. I don't think it's a Saiyan, period. He outright says to Trunks, "This is where you'll take your last breath, Saiyan.". The way he spitefully addressed Trunks as a Saiyan makes me think of the racial bias directed at the Saiyan's by characters like Frieza. So I doubt he would be so spitefully calling Trunks a Saiyan, as though it were a curse-word or an insult, if he himself was a Saiyan.

That being said, I see it being some type of alien, or android. Something along those lines. Maybe it was even a version of the super water, or whatever that absorbed Vegeta's powers? Who knows, at this point. 😬

The last episode was the best episode so far.

Episode is outright amazing. Love Black. Seems like the next episode is going to be even better. I wonder how black is able to traverse time.

Did anyone notice that black had on one ear ring? I wonder if he is going to try and merge with Goku.

I was almost expecting Future Trunks to go ssj2 when he powered up against Black. Because Mai and Bulma both dying for him would have been a great trigger for it. Still don't get the Mai/Future Trunks thing though.. Because they couldn't have been wished back young because no dragon balls so she couldn't be as young as Trunks she would be older/old as Bulma... Unless Future Trunks just likes cougars.... who knows.

Also wonder what Future Trunks is going to think of Present Trunks and Goten.

Trust me, he is merged with someone based off his tone about Saiyans. I'm sure with the earrings, he can merge again.

Either merged, or being controlled. We saw a Kai in the opening with one orange earring on the other side of his head; maybe one of the other universes has a different kind of "mental" fusion?
