Goku and Vegeta both know they are weaker than Beerus. Have said so themselves. They are still trying to get strong enough to even fight Beerus.

Well it was part of a filler episode, but the room still had a more interesting concept than the Hyperbolic Time Chamber and the like.
Like how Krillen and the Z-fighters were fighting a couple saiyans from a hundred or so years ago while preparing for Nappa and Vegeta, I could see the current Goku and Vegeta testing their new powers in the room by fighting some ancient deities in there or something.

Piccolo hasn't been stated to be maxed out in his ability to get stronger. In fact if that was the case Piccolo would be the worst choice for the tournament they are in during the manga. And he'd be weaker than Goten and Trunks when clearly he isn't.

Yea, he punched a hole in him.. Then goku regened, and went right back stronger than ever because his power kept growing. In Super he made Beerus get serious, more than he did in BoG. They time limit is what kept Goku from winning not lack of power.
You use their words to say Blue is more powerful, but at the same time gloss over the fact they constantly refer to and say that they are so much weaker than Beerus... Its not a two way street carver. The same level of power output Goku had against Beerus can't be possible for SSB Goku, Vegeta, and Golden Freeza if Beerus looks at them like ants still when God mode had him actually trying. There's nothing but proof. SSB Goku power doesn't just grow every second by being in that form. He says he isn't strong enough to challenge Beerus yet, when he was on par with Beerus in God Mode. Even Vegeta is still scared of Beerus, if he had the power that God Mode had, he would have challenged, and beat, and gloated about how powerful he was. Because he's Vegeta.
