Pretty much the tournament is for the Earth and the Super DB. And they are still missing the last ball.. So why he went to Beerus after so long before finding the last ball is also weird. Unless the last ball is somewhere Beerus would notice it missing...like one of the planets around him.

Or the earth's core...

There are two options where that line is concerned.

a.) Beerus wasn't quite as strong as Boo ~75 million years ago when he sealed Elder Kaioshin inside the Sword, as has since increased his power tremendously.

b.) Toriyama completely forgot about that throwaway factoid nearly 2 decades later, when he wrote BoG.

While the former isn't out of the question, I would personally lean toward the latter considering Toriyama himself said that he doesn't remember most of the shit he wrote back then. /shrug

To explain it now without in canon contradictions, you'd basically have to go with Elder Kai lying or not knowing the full limits of Beerus' strength.

Even Frieza had no real idea and he had a few interactions with him. He basically judged it off of what King Cold said.

Though it's pretty obvious Toriyama just forgot a very minor detail.

Elder Kaioshin seemed very much aware of Beerus' power when he entered the fray in DBS--he was practically shitting his pants in terror.

Tori's just a tard, tbh. Attention to detail isn't his thing.

Im loving that there is a team tournament going on.

Reminds me of Yu Yu Hakusho.

Chapter 8.

^ Kept having to remind myself that I wasn't reading DBM.

yea i was thinking the same thing ha ^

How is Piccolo going to beat someone who beats Goku?

Piccolo is one of the most versatile, smartest Dragonball character in history when it comes to the Z fighters and we have as of yet to see him go all out. Piccolo ALWAYS train so there's no tell how powerful this guy is.

Goku always has to fight like a goof ball. He's the Jackie Chan of the DBZ Universe.

Also, lol @ the writers finding ways to keep Buu out of the fights in the series

We know that the teddy bear will beat Goku?

Sub-Gohan-level. 🙂

Yeah, I legit don't get it. Are they just trying to give the other Z Fighters some limelight, or what..?

Versatility means little in DBZ. Piccolo has got to be given a unexplained power up to even hope to compete in their league. I just hope he isn't treated as fodder

The bear, no. But Goku.isn't going to take them all down himself or it be one very lame tournament.

By all accounts Gohan, and probably Trunks and Goten are more powerful than Piccolo at this point.
Even if not, through some training they can go higher up than he ever can.

Gotenks should take Buu's place tbh 😬

I can see Goku losing because he does not get to recover between matches or something.

I'll be curious to see how powerful this universe's iteration of Saiyans and Freeza are.

That he should. He'd be more powerful than Buu anyway.

Regardless of power levels, I like the idea of Buu fighting again because of his unique abilities and such, but if the writers are doing everything they can to make him not fight, then I guess it's what it is.. Can still be happy with Piccolo at least, and maybe Gotenks if they use him.
