What advantages Exar Kun has over Sidious?
1. Kun(because he is young) has already an overwhelming physical force(that means he won't use the Force to bolster his body) wasting his Force reserves
2. Kun has an unorthodox fighting style and a unique lightsabre. He seems to have a unique lightsabre style of his own. A style, Sidious does not know of. Kun seems to utilize a variant of Niman/Juyo=Nimuyo?
Kun already knows the Niman form according to various sources(so he must be proficient in the other as well) given how much he has sparred with Vodo(and that he calls him his best student in hundreds of years) which should compensate for Sidious' so-called 'ambidextrously' lightsabre talent. But I still doubt of that TCW Insider as Sidious is more of a Sith 'Consular'(even his training under Plagueis was disdainful when it came about lightsabres. Not to mention that even his apprentices always trained alone with robots. Even in TFU, Sidious uses the Force to fight Malek instead using his lightsabre. Or against Yoda, or the Brothers<<Maul and Opress>>😉
So you have all these instances where Sidious resorts to Force to dominate his opponents. Therefore, I call that TCW Star Wars Insider as an 'official crap' written by a Sheev fanboy.
So it's to safe to say that, even if Sidious is a Juyo Master(he can't just switch from one form to another as he pleases to)
3. Kun has a similar technique used by Zannah in DoE to summon Dark Side tendrils. Something that Sidious is not aware of. He's not aware of many things even when he smokes the Dark Side and gets visions.
4. Exar knows Force drain; and used it against Force-sensitives(his Massassi); Sidious just used it against featless nonfactor unknown people on Byss{and it was slow} But at this point; Sidious has not used Force drain. And it is safe to say that he hasn't any Force drain immunity, unlike Kun who(might have) given that Ulic knew a counter for it against the Dark Reaper. It would be nonsensical to say that Kun does not have it. So Kun could just suck the life out of Palpatine.
5. Kun(due to his unique lightsabre) could trick Sidious during their duel(shortening or increasing the blade's length) if he catches him into a 'dramatic pose'(if they lightsabres clash in an X) And it will happen here, nonetheless.
6. Exar Kun also uses his lightsaber style and his Force abilities in-between moments whereas Sidious mostly resorts to using the Force to dominate his opponents(his counterpart would be Yoda)
7. Kun is just too unpredictable in combat. That's why no one ever claimed a victory against him(not even a 600 years old experienced Jedi Weapon Battlemaster when Kun was nothing more but a Jedi Padawan) It's not like Ulic was a pushover either when it came about being on the battlefield.
Imagine this scenario:
They draw their lightsabres out*
Both jump at each other*
They clash their sabers in an X*
Kun Force-pushes Palpatine and slams him like Yoda did*
Palpatine gets up and Force lightning's Kun*
Kun uses his lightsaber to repel the attack*
Kun throws another Force-push against Sidious*
Kun runs to attack Sidious*
Sidious Force-pushes Kun too*
Sidious then tries to Force-choke Kun to death*
Kun uses his saber(it fell down) via TK and throws it in Palpatine*
Palpatine release him to avoid the deadly blow*
Kun uses this time a Force blast to hit Sidious*
Sidious evades*
Kun lashes at him with(Saiyan look) to end him*
They clash again in X*
Kun uses his overwhelming physical strength to best Sidious*
Sidious still stands, yet*
Sidious is overwhelmed physically by Kun and doesn't want to waste his Force reserves, so he jumps back, away from Kun*
Kun uses another Force blast and hits Sidious*
This time, Kun uses his power in Jedi Academy to rip Sidious' soul from his body(via Dark Tendrils) and kills him, sending Sidious' spirit into Chaos*
Conclusion:
You have two Sith Lords from different eras with different requirements for being a Dark Lord of the Sith.
Ancient Sith:
Make your way to top via your own Force strength(whether it is natural or stolen) against other contenders
Watch your back
Train, train, train to keep your position(Kun trained as a Jedi too)
Destroy your enemies and crush them via face-to-face
Banite Sith:
You must be two
Be cunning, deceitful
Crave knowledge(power) from your Master
Kill them when YOU think that they are no longer useful to you(no matter what means you use) If they didn't see it. They must be weak
Get into damn politics and fool everyone in the Republic and topple the Jedi Order from within and CONQUER THE GALAXY
