Its not so much that Trump finances his own campaign. Its that he manipulates news pundits to make him the headline, thus promoting his campaign through the media. I read somewhere his TV coverage is equivalent to a couple billion bucks in campaign advertising. So it's not like he's paying out of pocket for everything.

I mean don't the Clinton's also give speeches where they are paid hundreds of thousands of dollars for one speech? I just find that silly. No speech is worth that much money, I don't care if God himself is the one reading it.

So here is something interesting:

http://www.nbcnews.com/news/latino/nevada-gov-brian-sandoval-says-he-will-now-support-trump-n568796

You have some hispanic governors throwing their support behind Trump. Even though some of those same people were critical of Trump in the past.

So any day now I'm expecting a group a mexican kids to show up and begin flipping these governors off while cursing at them.

The critic there is that she's paid those stupid large sums to speak as payment for favors she's done and the speaking engagement is more of a cover-up, laundering the money.

Which I have to admit, some of the ones I've read about seem highly suspicious.

Wait, then on this fact alone she shouldn't be president.

If "taking money for favors" discredits anyone from being the POTUS alone, then Sanders is probably the only politician qualified to be prezzy and even that's a maybe.

Then it looks like Bernie is potentially the only one qualified. People shouldn't be making boatloads of cash by doing political favors for people. It means they are more likely to help someone if they can directly benefit from it as opposed to it being the right thing for the country.

Is Bernie Sanders rich? Does he live in a mansion?

Why do you think people and corporations donate absurdly large sums of money to a presidential hopeful's campaign?

eg Jeb Bush didn't "raise" millions upon millions to fund his campaign without owing some people favors, should he have won the presidency.

I know why they do it, but it's wrong..because then those rich douches become more of a priority then the people who didn't donate any money. Even though those people make up the majority of people in this country.

Also have you seen this:

http://gawker.com/which-reporter-has-copies-of-hillary-clinton-s-secret-g-1760570910

Essentially it claims Hilary was trying to block the transcripts of speeches she gave to banks. Does anyone have any idea why she would do that? Can someone explain the purpose in blocking these if Hilary didn't say anything wrong in these speeches?

Not looking good for the GOP right now. Paul Ryan and both Bushes have already said they won't back Trump for president. Or at least in Ryan's case he's saying he's "not ready" to back Trump.

Now, the thing is that this may not hurt Trump himself terribly, but it makes the party look fragmented and silly.

I see a 3rd party candidate coming that will assure Clinton the White House.

At this point the ship has sailed when it comes to trying not to look silly.

Nah. Iit's pretty evident to me that Trump wins the preidency. The Trump "phenomenon" is a social and cultural movement that, at this point, cannot be stopped.

I concur. The GOP has run its course and.... it's not a bad thing.

There is definitely a need for a renewal on the right. I think this indeed will happen in the following years. The survival of the GOP is not key to that.

Nah, man. He's a socialist which by default disqualifies him. 👆

A few years ago, I thought the GOP was heading toward a split into a center-right "establishment" faction and a more far-right tea party faction.

But that actually oversimplifies the complexity of the GOP right now. There are five distinct factions (with a bit of overlap in just about every direction), these are: the establishment faction (guys like Romney, McCain, Jeb Bush, and sort of Scott Walker), the Trump faction, the evangelical faction (Cruz and his ilk), the Tea Party Faction (which may or may not be subsumed by the Trump faction), and the Libertarian Faction.

Trump's not going to win the presidency. People may dislike Hillary, but they view Trump as the harbinger of the apocalpyse, especially considering that he has advocated for the use of nukes.

Matter of fact, Trump is probably the only reason Hillary is in the race. Both of my parents HATE Hillary, but they still voted for her in the primary ONLY because they believe she poses competition to Trump. They said that if Trump wasn't in this election, they would have given Bernie more consideration.

Out of these, I can a definitely see 4 factions metamorphing into something new, the establishment faction is out.

And people who believe that nonsense are in majority leftists. Color me surprised 🙄

Um...maybe for your parents, which is a nice personal anecdote btw..... but your parents are not the measure stick for the general voters' sentiments.

As I said, I refer to more of a "social phenomenon" than the persona of Trump.

Trump is a social phenomena, in how much people hate him. Hell, entire cities protest against him. He might have his cute little support base, but the people who hate him undoubtedly outnumber the people who like him. He's alienated most minorities and women from his voting base. He can't win without that.

That... is very far from "undoubtful", to be fair.

BTW The loud minority can always outshout a silent majority.... However, the silent majority is back and it's pissed. We'll see how it plays out 👆

Spoiler:
Trump wins
