Fair enough, but why can't people get ID's? What is so hard? Do these people never drive cars or buy booze or any of that shit? Don't you need an ID for health care and all that shit too?If you're too lazy or cheap to get an ID that is on you. Pretty sure you can't get something like welfare or any of that shit without an ID, right? So why don't these people have ID's? What is so difficult? Can you explain it to me?
If voting is so important to you..wouldn't you make sure to get an ID?
I just had to take my brother to get him an ID so he could travel to New York. It cost him 25 dollars and it took about 30 minutes. If someone can't afford the 25 bucks to get it then whether or not they can vote is the least of their problems.
In states with voter ID laws, more than 10 million eligible voters live more than 10 miles from the nearest voter ID-issuing office, and nearly 500,000 of them have no access to a vehicle and live in areas with few or no public transportation options.
Not to mention, many ID-issuing offices maintain limited business hours. For example, the office in Sauk City, Wisconsin is open only on the fifth Wednesday of any month. But only four months had five Wednesdays last year.
This does not include the significant costs of the documentation required to obtain a voter ID. Birth certificates can cost between $8 and $25 and marriage licenses, required for married women, can cost between $8 and $20.
These obstacles make it harder for hundreds of thousands of poor Americans to obtain the required ID to vote. They place a serious burden on a core constitutional right that should be universally available to every American citizen.
