Has any liberal Clinton supporter here said anything like the post I quoted? This entire discussion has been about what supporters have been saying elsewhere.
It started because Steinem was interrupted in the middle of a clumsy remark on Real Time with Bill Maher and the media seized on it.
I merely provided the full excerpt of the exchange and explained why I think some of the criticism she has received for it is misplaced.
Was her remark flippant? Yes. Could it have been better worded? Yes.
Are the people seizing on her last sentence while ignoring the paragraphs that preceded it being completely honest in their criticism? I do think so.
I think more of it is people having a knee-jerk response to a headline than anything else, but there are political opportunists who are trying to spin it as way to impugn this woman's character and discredit her for supporting another candidate, and you seem more than willing to go along with it.
You didn't just state what Steinem said, you doubled down on it and added your own view of it.
Additionally your claim that you just don't like when people use the Republican talking points to attack Clinton also rings hollow here. No liberal Sanders supporters here go for the Republican anti-Hillary talking points, which are mainly "Clinton has no successes", "Benghazi", "Email Scandal"... and neither does the Sanders campaign, the grievances with Clinton that Sanders supporters on here have are completely different (being establishment, spotty LGBT record, etc.) ... you disagree with those as well, and vehemently...which is fair enough, it's just disingenuous to pretend that that is not what's happening.
Anyways, interesting article of some female Sanders supporters reacting to Steinem's and Albright's statements: http://www.thedailybeast.com/articles/2016/02/07/hillary-is-confused-about-feminism-bernie-supporters-say.html?via=twitter_page
Personally I also think that rather than it being because of gender, or because of "looking where the boys are", young people like Sanders particularly cause he talks about one of the biggest issues they have, which is college debt and free education.
