That's speculation, saying Sidious would have died if Anakin never showed up. Sidious had his command of the force to fall back on.

Lucas says he was faking showing he was really just playing possum. Then you see Sidious has more than just lightning in TK, all of that could be used to get out of that situation.
Windu as confirmed by the ROTS novelization had an insane amp that he would never get again. That there means at his normal power he isn't on Yoda or Sidious level. Sidious was able to move and fight that fast with his won power. Same with Yoda. Mace needed a boost to get there. So while Windu did compete and contend defintily, he did so with a boost.
Under certain circumstances.
Again the battle with Sidious and Windu makes this pretty clear. One needed a boost while the other didn't. That there puts Mace at the bottom since overall on a normal day he wouldn't receive that so he wouldn't be able to compete like he did.

To be fair he is talking to Quan, who used a Top 5 list in a Star Wars source book as evidence in the Maul vs Dooku thread. And yes this was after the Mod Ruling.
yoda seemed to be enough for sidious to deal with had he not had his body beaten up from a major fall in the senate room.
windu doesnt last all that long against sidious i mean come on the sith was a powerful force user and could probably sense where anakin is anywhere within 50 miles with pin point accuracy so he would have known hpow close he was to turn him against windu when he staged the fight... also when he rezapped windu with some sith style lightninh after being "too weak to hold on anymore"

Windu won. Sidious didn't. They won't ever fight again. Windu won Yoda didn't. Power does not equal formidability.
One won and one didn't. He acted under his own power. You want to ignore this and make things up while going against the rules due to your own personal bias.
