He's actually credited as one of the story writer's for this.

Let's stop giving the guy such a hard time. He has done good films outside of the DCEU. The WB execs just gave him too many DCEU films, and more control than he probably should have had IMO.

Ya, regardless of one's opinion on his DCEU work, Mr. Snyder did direct 2004's Dawn of the Dead remake, 300, and Watchmen. The dude can make visual wonders, he just needs established material or a pretty air-tight script or things get out of hand (see BvS).

8/10.

Wonder Woman absolutely shits all over the other DCEU movies. It's actually entertaining and enjoyable, while the previous DCEU movies were dull and ham-fisted. Gadot was generally very good in the role with only a couple bad deliveries, and Chris Pine was amazing and had great chemistry with Gadot. The action was incredible and not overdone, and the visual effects were very nice to look at, especially during the Themyscira scenes. The ending was kind of predictable, and I thought Ares was sort of lame, but overall this movie was great. I'd give it an 8.5/10.

One-dimensional directors are bad directors. I don't care how pretty Snyder makes his films look, he a poor ideas man. Give any mediocre schmuck millions of dollars and the world's best talent and they can make pretty visuals too. I mean it sucks that he's going through a personal tragedy and I have nothing but best wishes, but that doesn't mean we forgive how stupidly BvS was done.

Also let's not give Snyder undue credit on Wonder Woman. Sure he's got a story credit but from producer Charles Roven himself, most of the script in its final form was birthed by Patty Jenkins and Geoff Johns. It was because of some writers guild thing that Jenkins and Johns didn't get any writing credits.

Lol at the Guardians haters.

Hopefully I'll go to see this movie next Monday.

Any SJW/Feminist feels in this movie?

It's not just about being "pretty". Watchmen and 300 were just great movies. Not everyone can translate comic to screen like that, and not everyone can execute the kind of action sequences he has done either. And there were some great action sequences in MOS.

I think BvS was just above his paygrade though tbh.

He deserves some of the credit for WW. He's credited as a story writer because he's basically been shepherding these films so far. In fact WB wouldn't even have done WW before JL. They were gonna just jump straight into JL, but Snyder convinced them to do a bit of build up.

I'm guessing Whedon/Johns will take over that role of shepherding the DCEU now though. And that Patty Jenkins will do JL2.

I just got back from seeing this. I quite enjoyed it. It's hardly anything groundbreaking as far as comic book films go, but it's a good Wonder Woman adaptation, and the best the DCEU has produced so far IMO. It gives me hope for the future of this universe, especially considering how disappointing I found both Batman vs Superman and Suicide Squad.

Boring as hell.

Damn, has the DCEU really dumbed downs everyone's expectations so much already?? There's absolutely nothing special about this movie, ya'll need to go re-watch Captain America: The Winter Soldier and reevaluate your life choices. 😂

One girl at the theater was falling asleep, lol. I was struggling to stay awake myself.

This is a different kind of movie, you can't compare it to a grand political thriller like Winter Soldier. A better comparison would be Captain America The First Avenger. It's a character story and a character journey. The story is told with meaning and substance that the Snyder movies don't have. Coming out of Themyscira, Diana has a clearly defined attitude in the basic goodness of everyone and everything. It's this goodness that deserves to be protected. Then the entire movie is a deconstruction of her attitude as she faces the evils of men.

The end fight is a bit gimmicky but the character arc is airtight. If anything this movie reminds me of Reeves Superman

In fact, I enjoyed BvS more than this.

The theatrical or Ultimate edition of BvS? The Ultimate Edition was a completely different movie.
