Like the tv show on HBO. The best I've ever seen. Makes the book look like shit. Especially anything from Dorne

There's just some things that are too awful to say, and you said them all.

If there was a camera in my room, I'd be staring into it right now.

Gr8 b8 m8.

Anyway, an example of the show's bad writing is the end of Stannis' run, and more importantly Brienne's involvement in it and the (lack of) consequences.

Brienne found herself having to make a choice: either hunt down the man who killed the man she loved in the name of vengeance, or adhere to the knightly vow she made to Catelyn to protect Sansa Stark. She ultimately chose the former, and kills Stannis, forsaking her honor.

Now, this isn't bad writing in of itself (though the shit that led to Stannis being in this predicament was), but here's the problem: this huge character moment for Brienne had no consequence. The next episode she finds Sansa anyway in the nick of time and "heroically" rescues her from her would-be captors.

So why was there this big choice at all? Why did D&D build this decision up as a big character moment for Brienne, only to **** the consequences of it the very next episode? It's cheap drama, meant to bait the viewer into thinking there's a real moment of character development (in this case negative), only for the show to ignore it so Brienne can continue to be the hero. It's lazy and bad wriitng.

Welp, Dany finally did something.

Also, that Stark reunion hit all the right feels.

Epic episode

Better Twitter reaction than usual:

I like to follow the collective reaction to episodes, and the Ep. 2 reaction was muted bc we all knew it was going to happen. This was the first that was really cool, and is probably the best they've managed since the Mountain v. The Viper.

Pretty slow episode. The Jon-Sansa reunion was cool, and Daenerys is bae

I liked this episode. First one in ages that made things move again: Jon and Sansa (possibly)

Spoiler:
heading for Winterfell to reclaim it, with the knights of the Vale
and Daenarys
Spoiler:
finally starting to move again
. Heck, even on the Theon front things finally start to move.

If they keep it up, we may be getting some excitement again in GoT.

Very good episode. Season 6 is starting to make me hope that season 5 was an awful, awful outlier.

I'm still pretty sure that theres a difference between combustible and flammable. Wish the show writers agreed.

I'm not sure how the Dothraki work, but somehow I felt like

Spoiler:
Dany burning their sacred temple and killing a bunch of Khals should have enraged them, not made them think she's some kind of God-Queen

I agree,

Spoiler:
the reaction of the Dothraki did not seem in line with their culture as either the show or the books have laid it out so far
.

It was revealed to us through Dany's conversations with the women in the temple that lots of the dothraki may secretly hate the khals

Spoiler:
And all their bloodriders are just longing to kneel for a foreign woman.

The dothraki respect power don't they, and Dany gives an almost mythical display of power. Not to mention she's not a total foreigner, she married into the dothraki and is officially one of them.

Yep, I agree. Add a couple of dragons and there you go.

tormund likes a big woman.

did anyone else see that crush coming?

Hehehe...

Most people will tell you it is because she is tough and cool.

I'll tell you that it is because she's a pretty white lady and that this show rarely portrays minorities/ladies in a positive manner.
