The latest episode was an example of how not to pace a complicated show. Despite having many threads struggling for breathing room, the showrunners opted to dedicate 5 minutes for the High Sparrow and Tommen to basically express positions we already know they hold, and another 5 minutes in unfunny small talk while Tyrion and Co waited for Varys to return. We could have not had either of those scenes and added 10 minutes to the Wall or to Sansa's storyline.

Nah it's a shadow of season 1, literal trash, comparable to the likes of Honey Boo Boo and Big Bang Theory.
That is a bit unfair. HBB and BBT don't misrepresent something they're adapting. They're also stupid shows that know exactly what they are whereas GoT is so impressed with itself.

Ok, if it's so bad why are people watching?
You see, people lead busy lives, with careers and classes that require them to think a lot. So when they get home many of them just want to watch something that entertains them without having any significant intellectual stimulation. There's nothing wrong with it, but that doesn't make the show bad.
I don't know why so many people can't acknowledge shit they like is bad. I love the movie Van Helsing, but it's also a shitty ****ing movie.
Alternatively, it could be good will earned from some of the previous seasons which were legitimately good.
Alternatively, it could be because the average viewer is a simpleton, but I don't like to think that's the case.

You're one of those significant simpletons.
