I had forgotten just how awful that was. The choreography and cuts/editing is shocking really. But most of the fights in previous seasons have been lacking. Even the Mountain/Oberon fight, which was probably one of the better ones from the previous seasons, wasn't that good.
I enjoyed the Viper Vs Mountain fight, even thought it should have been slightly longer, imo.
Agreed. Hopefully they don't start altering time.
But if you do, bring back Ned...

sorry, i didn't notice your stealth edit. i'm not very good at checking for stealth edits.non-stealth edit: also, you should read it again because the question in the 2012 thread was 'who's skull was sent to dorne", not "who's head is on ser robert strong".
you have to acquire a taste for never-ending disappointment and heartbreak.

Well, it was one of the better ones, but I still felt it wasn't really overly impressive. And I think Oberyn's character and emotion during that fight is what added a lot of weight to it, personally. The group sword battle in that previous episode just looked way more polished to me. But I guess it might just be that I've become somewhat spoiled in terms of fight/action choreography, after watching a lot of shows like Daredevil and Into The Badlands.

“One day at Myr, a certain man came to our folly. After the performance, he made an offer for me that my master found too tempting to refuse. I was in terror. I feared the man meant to use me as I had heard men used small boys, but in truth the only part of me had need of was my manhood. He gave me a potion that made me powerless to move or speak, yet did nothing to dull my senses. With a long, hooked blade, he sliced me root and stem, chanting all the while. I watched him burn my manly parts on a brazier. The flames turned blue, and I heard a voice answer his call, though I did not understand the words they spoke. … Yet I still dream of that night, my lord. Not of the sorcerer, nor his blade, nor even the way my manhood shriveled as it burned. I dream of the voice. The voice from the flames. Was it a god, a demon, some conjurer's trick? I could not tell you, and I know all the tricks. All I can say for a certainty is that he called it, and it answered, and since that day I have hated magic and all those who practice it. If Lord Stannis is one such, I mean to see him dead."
aren't the dragons said to be the source of magic?

Yeah. That's always the issue with having people without any real extensive combat training taking on those kinds of roles. You can cheat a lot more easily with pure hand-to-hand stuff (for example, very close up shots, shaky cam, rapid cuts etc.), but it is much harder to make someone who has never used a sword in anger look good with it, and still allow people to see what's going on in the fight.

Too many plotlines. I wish they'd just focus on two or three per episode instead of all...what, six of them? That way we'd get some real movement.
This is a problem with the show as a whole. My usual solution is to watch in chunks. Like, 5 episodes at a time. But the nature of internet reactions and spoilers means I have to stay up-to-date. So yes, I wish they'd break up seasons differently, and just stay in maybe 2-3 places tops each episode.
It's honestly a show that would be much better if released in the Netflix style. At this point nothing really surprises me because every possible plot twist is either stupid or has been predicted by the fans months or years ahead of time, so I'd rather be able to binge it. It's probably the one show I think that is better when binged.
