Game of Thrones

Sucks Hodor died, but lets be honest here, from the beginning it was clear Hodor was going to die protecting Bran from a threat. I never looked at Hodor like "I hope he doesn't die", as I do characters such as Tyrion. From the moment Hodor first appeared, I knew he would die sacrificing himself for Bran. He never had a chance in hell of surviving GOT.

I don't think it's his death which impacted me as much as the revelation that
Spoiler:
Bran had inadvertently reached back through time and crippled Willis's mind turning him into Hodor and he had to live out his life as a mentally disabled giant until he fulfilled his destiny as the fodder to save Bran simply because Bran interacted with the Night King on the astral plane. That's a f*cked up predestination paradox.

Best part for me though was Fake Sansa.

was trying to wrap my head around that, thinking there was something else at play besides time paradox shenanigans, but i guess the simplest answer is the best one.

also, exactly how much time passed between Bran going dolo on the astral plane and the Wights showing up to the cave? It seems as though they got there super fast, like they were just around the corner or some shit.

Such a great episode.

Well, they're a magical horde of ice zombies that can move very quickly (remember Hardhome? They came in like a storm/avalanche). Once the Night King knew their exact location it was essentially Game Blouses. It's not like they have to slow down due to fatigue.

I'm looking forward to seeing Jon gathering up the smaller Northern houses to march with him.

Well, the last 10 minutes of episode 5 were just tragic and heartwrenching. The first time the show managed to actually upset me. Goddamn.

Does this whole Night King/Wight invasion have any impact on Essos? It seems more like a Westeros issue. Wouldn't it be smart to just relocate across the Narrow Sea?

I honestly can see them just freezing the narrow sea and walking across.

But hasn't this thing happened several times? The whole "Winter is Coming" thing. Didn't the people of Westeros erect the wall and set up the Night's Watch thousands of years ago because the whole Wight Walker issue has been going on for centuries? Essos seems to have had more issues with Dragons, the Grayscale/Stone People plague, and whatever the hell it was that turned Valyria into smoky ruins. I don't think the Wights and Night King even do business in Essos.

The thing is that I don't think there are legends of the White Walkers in Essos. If they had the capability to attack Essos they probably would have done it last time. There do seem to have been other bad things happening in Essos though during the Long Night, just not the same as the White Walker invasion in Westeros.

*spoilers*

Really has more to do with how/why Hodor died. He was turned into an imbecile for the majority of his life in the past by Bran's idiocy, just so his life could finalize into sacrificing himself to save Bran by holding a door.

If Hodor had gone down swinging a tree trunk like a total boss, it wouldn't be so sad.

No.

They've only tried invading once thousands of years ago and were defeated, if they were successful taking over the 7 kingdoms they would try taking over the rest of the world.

The Lord of Light originated in Essos and his enemy is The Great Other, The Others are supposed to be the servants of The Great Other.

Hodor reminded me of Robtard.

Spoiler:
Thank god he's gone.

speaking of the Lord of Light. Are Milesandre and the new Red Woman even aware of each other? Given both women thinking two different people are the promised one, it doesn't seem like they are "talking" to the same god.

Typically (pretty much w/o exception... i can't think of any), members of the same faith are in agreement concerning who the messiah figures are.

At the very least this means one of them (most likely Melisandre) is full of shit and making things up as she goes.

btw, i was just starting to like (not hate) Sansa, but her scene with Little Finger was off-putting. She was totally justified, but the way she acted all tough now that she has Brienne behind her, really made me recoil.

They're both full of shit. Something likely is speaking to both of them but it’s either being incorrectly interpreted or the thing speaking is incorrect as well.

What world have you been living in?

the one occupied by adults who say what they mean instead of asking passive aggressive rhetorical bait questions.

are you upset, good sir?
