In case you’ve been diverted by more urgent news in recent days, as “Captain Marvel” hits theaters, a group of trolls — upset about what they say are the movie’s liberal politics and diverse casting, and angry about Larson’s call for more women and people of color in film — have gotten to work.

I'm heading out to see CM in a bit. I'm expecting it to be fine, tbh. Not IM3 bad, but not WS good either. I still have my doubts about Larson, though. The few films I've seen her in, she hasn't stood out at all to me. I am hoping that the supporting cast will carry any weight that she can't, but that can only do so much.

Bingo. There is no defending this. There would be an epic meltdown if it was said about any other race. People would be boycotting the movie.
Movie seems like it's shit, but it'll probably make money and lead to sequels. So in the future she needs to do better and stop spewing her misandry.
I do kinda feel bad for her cuz I'm sure her father was a white male. That must be awful for her.

I hate saying this, but gonna have to agree with Quan on this, some of you are extremely thin skinned and overly caught up with what dumb blonde chick says. Like who gives a ****? Try to go into the movie without yalls crazy bias.
Just for comparison, Wonder Woman's RT critic rating was 93% and the audience score was 88%. Black Panther has a 97% rating from critics and 79% from the audience.
In fact, looking at every single Marvel movie since the first Iron Man film...Captain Marvel has the lowest audience score by far. The lowest score following that is for the James Norton Hulk movie, which has a 70%.
Adding in Marvel tv shows doesn't help matters much. The only show with a lower rating is Inhumans lol.

Also, people can't have it both ways. People can't praise this for having a female lead and being feminist while at the same time saying gender doesn't matter. People need to choose, I don't care what they choose, but they *do* need to choose.
