All the mystery built up around him in TFA. Everyone was speculating who he may have been - Only to be killed off immediately with no answers. I'm sure you loved how this character was treated though. It couldn't have been any better.
Ok, so you liked him but he was my favorite from the last one. His voice, his dialogue, his look and his mannerisms were the best from any Star Wars character to me. We don't know everything about him at this point. So ?
Anyone's opinion on what they should do is probably different but I'm not the director I go with the facts not in my own world like many of the upset fans with this film. His mystery is still there, it wasn't pivotal to the plot of this film, and we don't know what's going to happen next. This will be explored later at some point.
On the other hand, Kylo Ren has nothing going for him. Weak in acting, character, and power.BTW, Rian didn't only completely undermine the OT/PT, which I know you are happy about, but also TFA. Jar Jar Abrams was building up storylines for:
- Rey's past
- Snoke's background and motivations. Abrams said Snoke was "ancient".
- Knights of Ren - completely discarded
- Why Luke was in hiding - wasn't to just "die" as per TFA
All of these are lazily or incoherently addressed, or not at all. [/B]
Kylo Ren is no Snoke to me but that's fine.
He's a great actor, is quick to anger, and quite impulsive. That's what makes him Kylo thus far at this point in his journey. What he did was more about his own survival and these bad guys are quite selfish and always looking to backstab each other when the situation presents itself. This isn't new. Vader was musing about overthrowing Sidious to Padme back in the prequels.
We don't need everything addressed already. If you hate this about the films that's fine. You clearly didn't enjoy the film but I did. You're too worried about your own preconceived notions of the film to judge it fairly.
