Star Wars: The Last Jedi

Elaborate on what? The themes?

They deal with failure, heroes, hope, and myth. The interesting thing is they aren't at all distinct in the film but all tied together. It shows us that heroes aren't perfect they fail and struggle as they are just human and don't live up to the myths they inspire. And yet, those myths do have merit as they inspire hope as we see in that last scene. It's relatively complex stuff for a SW film (SW films have always been rather shallow so it isn't saying much) and certainly stuff that we haven't see before in one.

Star Wars TLJ: Kid = Skywalker!!??

SPOILER ALERT!!

Hey guys, let's admit The Last Jedi was a movie full of surprises. Maybe one of the most unexpected movies i've seen.

Now, as a star wars fan I trembled the moment i saw that little guy looking at the cosmos at the end of the film.

My question to you now is, Is this little guy who it think he is? Is he someone similar to Anakin Skywalker?

nope and lol

I was thinking that it is possible that he is related to the peeps.

But he could just be a force sensitive.

You don't think Obi-Wan qualifies?

I just find it amusing how you and a few others can’t handle people having different opinions.

oh i can handle it.. your problem is that you attacked me for not being in love with RT and audience scores. Unlike you and few others I do not care for RT and audience scores. Fact is they do not mind a damn thing, yet dummies wanna say different, that has been my while point that i was making to playa.. Nobody cares about what metacritic thinks or what the audience score is.. The fact is that people love Star Wars and that won't change... Not my [problem you interfered, Nor is it my problem folks might need 5150 holds if they cannot think for themselves when it comes to movies...

It's Bruce Skywalker

also josh that scene was already explained..

use google and look for it

Thor shat all over TFA.

I'm referring to him bending over and taking it up the ass from the McU

I just came off the cinema, so i havent gotten time to make my researches.

Could you be more specific please.

I already talked about this in TLJ thread....

Broomboi will be a grandmaster jedi in Episode 9

Saw it.

It wasn't bad but it wasn't great. Perhaps a bit better than The Force Awakens. 7/10, still, just like TFA.

Honestly, after thinking over it for a bit, I want them to redo the story for 7-9 already. Just forget about this story altogether. And write proper 7-9 stories. Let them do their bullshit episode 9 and then just redo all of 7-9 with a new story. But the "oldies" will have died already? Except Hamill.

This film...like TFA, does not feel like Star Wars. These movies never shake the feeling of it being a very very very expensive fan film with questionable tastes in plot.

I was glad that they let Fisher's real life personality leak through into her Leia character. I really love Carrie Fisher.

I could review lots of specific elements but that would be extremely time consuming.

That's one of my largest complaints about TFA and TLJ. It's REALLY hard to quantify for me, but yeah, agreed.

And likewise the same people who defended TFA being a rehash are now praising TLJ for taking numerous chances.

IOW they will praise these films no matter what and criticise nothing. So that line of reasoning can be used both ways.

Everyone should be more secure in their own opinions that they don’t get butthurt if others feel differently.

Originality doesn't make or break a film and neither does creativity. A movie should create emotion for you and if it does this in spades it's a great film. This film gets better with viewings and the action in it is top notch. If the nerds **** him directing his own trilogy up I'll be pissed.

Ot had its place in time. Kill the past as one from the Last Jedi might say.

Where would you rank it among SW films?
2nd best right under ROTS.

Yeah, I actually think Rey being a random is hilarious.

What I hate is that this movie completely destroys the Skywalker legacy. As of this movie, we now know that Luke was a complete failure as a Jedi, Leia is a complete failure as a politician since a fledgling terrorist group like The First Order can completely walk all over the New Republic, and the family not only has one, but TWO mass murderers in it.

I've always stated the Jedi were massive failures. It's ironic all you sycophants and dolts had to hear a Yoda utter the words failure is the greatest teacher to get it. And when you finally grasp they are an order of failure you reject canon. He who laughs last laughs best.

Dunno if you should be talking shit after what happened to Snoke....also Jedi are going to win in episode 9...you really don't think Kylo has a chance against Rey do you?

He has no bad showings whatsoever. He was arrogant as are most alpha males. He was beyond either of these two who scared the shit out of Luke and fared far better against Luke. Snoke is the top of the food chain when it comes to force powers.

Kylo and Rey are counterparts and both are huge deals as per Luke. Kylo is superior to Rey as well at this point.

No bad showings?
Spoiler:

1.He wasn't strong enough in the force to feel and prevent getting forced killed by Kylo Ren; the same Kylo Ren that is inferior to Rey in every way.
2. Luke showed the single greatest feat of any force user in film history by projecting himself across the galaxy and having a physical presence whilst doing so....
3. And Kylo is NOT superior to Rey....not even close. Kylo got his ass beat by Rey in TFA, and at BEST stalemated Rey in this movie....He WILL lose to her in Episode 9 as well....I guarantee it...
4. Emperor had better force lightning than Snoke And was casually chucking massive council platforms AND defeating Yoda in Episode 3. Emperor >>>Snoke in every way. It's not subjective...on screen proof is in the pudding.

I will say this for Snoke though, Andy Serkis' voice is awesome.

Spoiler:

1. The force doesn't make you all knowing, it's like saying the Jedi couldn't see the order 66 coming. Palpatine couldn't see Vader turning but he did have a lot more time to react against a one armed cyborg without the force or his weapon in tossing him to his death.

Explained in the film. Ren was spiritually weakened due to Han's death and he was also shot and grazed by a Lightsaber.

2. Iyo but force feats never replaced how the characters stack up. We see Ben do what to Luke which you ignore your own reasoning to Snoke and his saber was drawn. Ben was younger and more inexperienced and pre I want to die alone version. Snoke creating a bridge between them was pretty amazing and he was beyond either in combat as he showed unlike Luke. Luke fell on his ass to Rey and was defeated by Ben.

3. Kylo was spiritually weakened, injured, etc. We will see. Kylo is better than she is so lets see the circumstances.

4. Feats don't prove superiority and never have. It's how they stack up. Rey can lift the rocks all over and Snoke doesn't have the feat but how did she stack up to him. She didn't. As if Snoke couldn't hurl those pods. He just wasn't in that situation.

Snoke has been confirmed by the actor to be greater than Palpatine and the film also does so. It's ok you disagree but your opinion isn't a fact.

Just as Starkiller > Death Star we have Snoke and the First Order as greater than Palpatine and the empire.
