How would you guys have handled Luke's story?Let him suffer some serious setback, not outshine the new generation but end greatly?
TBH, even as a guy who thought this was good, my main gripe is one that's not just an issue with TLJ, but Force Awakens as well:
- Both movies, especially TLJ, severely hurt the legacy of the OT and the main OT characters,
Spoiler:The Rebels forming a new Republic, but still having to deal with the leftovers from the Empire or, perhaps, a new threat unlike the Empire (something like the Mandalorians)? Nope, the Rebel Alliance got pwned by the First Order, literally the Empire with a different coat of paint on it.
particularly Luke. What a sad ending (?) for one of the great cinematic everyman heroes ever. The Star Wars universe picks up in Force Awakens 30 years removed from the Rebels' victory over the Empire, and what do we have at the start of Force Awakens? Luke Skywalker, greatest Jedi master the universe has ever seen? Nope, a failure who got caught up in the dark side and tried to kill his own nephew, blew it, then turned into a bitter, cynical hermit.
sorry haters...

Merry Christmas
Snoke isn't dead.

I just read this movie had a sharp 67% drop internationally also. That's not good news.

It's already pacing behind Jurassic World and Avengers despite having bigger opening weekend.

Once again, you show you don't know what you are talking about. A big drop after a massive weekend almost always happens. Couple that with the fact that Christmas Eve falls on Sunday and a drop around this was expected.

Originally posted by ares834True, but this is f*cking STAR WARS!!!! For having such a big lead on those two movies it has fallen way behind after only 10 days.
You mean two of the biggest movies of all time with some amazing multipliers?! The horror!
Originally posted by juggernaut74Not every film is going to break historical records. Disney didn't anticipate this would beat Force Awakens. It's doing fine. When the movie is an embarrassment at the box office like Justice League that's when it's time to panic.
