I was just wondering what all the buzz for Aquaman is. If somebody would sit down and explain what kind of movie Aquaman was to me, I wouldn't be rushing out to see it.

Yo bro you like Fast and the Furious? Well this is like that but underwater with kick ass sea animals Bruh. You like lit music? Well we got you covered , we got Pitbull music to keep the crowd hyped.
How about totally chill surfer types? Aquaman is all that. check out his totally surfer bro attitude. Look at his tattoos. They scream cool and edgy. Ladies love him (and fellas too. Its 2019 bro). You like Action? Well it has it in spades. Explosions, Seahorses on steroids, water monsters, all types of sea-men. You like Hot chicks? Well Mera is a bombshell (get it? Shell?).

Aquaman does not have weakness. Namely its weak script and some hammy acting but it also does lots very well.

Like it or not the DCEU is starting to build a foundation that they will continue to build on.

The MCU did not get built overnight either.

Idk why anyone would not like DCEU to build onto this success, I just hope they make better movies in the future.

Last I heard Atlantis is on DC Earth. Didn't know it took place in another dimension or another planet.

"MY MAN"

It's better to just ignore him.

It might look like I'm picking on Aquaman but I'm not. I ask the same question about a lot of movies. Venom is another one. I thought that movie was absolutely awful. One of the worst comic book based movies ever, but it killed it at the box office.
Yea, I didn't get why people thought Venom was good either.

The bar is set so low.

Lets be fair. Most comic movies are not great movies. All very similar plots, usually predictable, kinda Corny. There are a lot of good ones and a lot of average and few garbage.

Just like any genre of anything really.

Basically. 👆

And yet those Movies can still make Big Money.

I used to love IM, but it doesn't hold up all that well, imo. It's still the best of the IM's though.

Urm no.

IM is a far far better movie than Aquaman. And absolutely holds up.

Favreau >>> Wan, no contest at all really.

Agree to disagree on that one.

Those are all facts.

IM had better writing and acting at the least.

Finally saw it. Although the special effects were great, that's all Aquabro had going for it. There were still pacing issues, the jokes were just plain bad (MCU level), and if it weren't for the supporting actors (Kidman and Dafoe), I'd give the movie 2/10 stars.

I really didn't invest in any of the characters, so I'm sort of disappointed in Wan, because every movie I've seen of his, I'm invested 100%.

I'll watch it again to see if I like it better a 2nd time around, but I just couldn't get into it.

You love Aquaman now? 😕

I'm speaking of John>>>Wan claim. Not AM Vs IM.

Favreau would beat Wan up.

That's a fact.

Eh, I could see the argument for Wan having a better eye for visuals, but Favreau has done more with less, and seems to be able to wrangle a better movie from the sum of its parts than Wan does. He also tends to deliver movies with better writing.

I love Jon F. Elf and Made are my top 2 favorite films of all time. More with less? Debatable. Wan started out with low budget horror, and making a good horror film is pretty challenging, imo.

Wan is like 5'0" feet tall (with heels)

What Favreau did with Iron Man alone eclipses any of that imo.

That doesn't excuse IM 2, which was shit and forgettable, imo. Wan has a good streak, just like Jon. Jon started out doing small time comedies, while Wan did small time horror. It really depends on your tastes at this point. I'm a huge horror buff, so I give Wan the edge.

Of course a manlet made this movie.

It all makes sense now.
