When I originally made this thread, the intent was that you simply cannot use any other weaponry other than the item you choose.

So if you selected the riot gear, that's all you get. So for example, if you stumbled upon a rifle laying on the ground, you couldn't use it.

So the most effective way of killing zombies would be grabbing them one by one and smashing their head against concrete or something.

Not so easy in the woods, where one would need to find some rock first.

Sigh. Riot gear is indeed quite limited in this thread, then you need to factor in how it could slow you down (the zombie killing method alone is time-consuming, not to mention the encumbrance itself) and the overheating would become an issue, too, I imagine (at least during spring and summer). As we discussed earlier.

Yeah, the riot gear provides you with a great defense against single Walkers(or even a handful of them.)

But your offense with the gear is limited to basically meleeing them individually.

Stilt, I'm confident you can nervestrike them 👆

In order for pressure points to work, I would need to properly resurrect them with my lv99 healer priest spells.

I also require the Ancient Archmage Robes for reducing casting speed.

Yeah, that sucks. I take it the baton is not included.

And while it's okay to crack their heads against the wall (example) or against each other, we're still not allowed to, let's say, pick up a stone or any other object?

Nope, just the armor + shield.

Exactly. You cannot pick up anything to use as a weapon against them. You can still bash zombie heads into rocks, walls, trees, the shield, etc.

That's dangerous and exhausting af though.

What would you pick?

I go back and fourth between the crossbow and katana. But if I had to pick one, it would probably be the sword.

Katana is breakable, yes?

It said to stay sharp that's really all you need, Swords don't break easily especially not on unproected Zombies.

They don't break easily, true, but they're still far from being nigh-unbreakable as comics and TV series show us.

Bones take a lot of time to decompose and zombies are already rotting at a far slower rate than they should.

Then there are actual skull durability feats, such as Rick's hatchet getting embedded in a roamer's skull with no ill-effect to the roamer or Glenn failing to pull his knife back after stabbing a roamer through the prison fence, losing the knife in the process and hurting his hand, too.

tl;dr

Galan just wants all of us to worship Negan and Lucille, the indestructible vampire bat.

It's the same katana Michonne uses, except it stays razor sharp indefinitely.

Yeah, TWD zombies can be squishy.

Don't get me wrong, the crossbow would be great but it also has some huge disadvantages:
a.) it's obviously best suited for ranged shooting.
b.) requires you to preform headshots under duress(which would be harder than it sounds, unless you're an expert with it.)
c.) it takes a few seconds to reload.
d.) if zombies get close to you, the bow essentially just becomes an awkward melee weapon.

At least with the sword you can take out multiple zombies with a single strike when they inevitably get in close.

Where exactly would we start? Because I'd get asap on a higher spot and just shoot everything in sight, always just move a bit forward and shoot everything again, alsways with some kind of (high) save point to return to.

Reloading crossbows has always historically been a problem.

Daryl does it quick and used it in hth sometimes, but he's mastered that weapon and is protected by writer's armor.

We're lacking Michonne's skill and finesse, to be fair.

It's a fun thread, no option is really perfect.

Ahh yes. Classic thread.

Are you telling me it was all a waste of time? I own an actual sword since I'm 14, do you know what that means? Right nothing, or by KMC standards I'm a certified master with my own dojo.

You're dropped right in the center of Atlanta just as the zombie outbreak peaks.
