No not at all. You need to read upon "The Death of the Author."
If you're saying everything a character says is always right, then you'd be dead wrong. Every In Universe character has their own limited level of knowledge and their own point of view, and their own personality which drives them to lie, manipulate or exaggerate.

You are still confusing the scene with an actual event.
No not really.

I'm not saying that it wasn't writer's intentions that Cap didn't do it better. It's possible.
Just as it's possible Jimmy was either misinformed, was mis-remembering, or simply exaggerating.

The feat is unusable regardless. So what is the debate really about?
You tell me.
Originally posted by Darth ThorThe word "if" is a relevant word. Basically you read my post and disregarded the "if".

It is not possible that Jimmy was misinformed because the writer didn't want him to be. Again, for the 100th time, stop pretending the scene occurred in real life. It didn't.Just as it's possible Jimmy was either misinformed, was mis-remembering, or simply exaggerating.

You initiated the debate by asking was it writer's intentions that Cap pushed the bulldozer faster than Deathlok.
Why? Neither feat is usable so why do you want to debate about it?

Since h1 is too scared of answering my question, I'll do it for him. There is nothing in the story to explain Jimmy's knowledge in regards to the Key's weight.
That's irrelevant. There doesn't have to be something in the story to prove why a character knows something. If the writer WANTS a character to know X then the writer doesn't have to explain how the character knows X. The character just knows, because that's what the writer wants to be the case.

IOW, you admit that there is nothing to explain his supposed knowledge and that 100% of her fighting feats contradict the key feat.

What does this have to do with anything? The feat is an outlier and unusable. So why are you wasting time babbling?
Now if you want to discuss the writer's intentions (although irrelevant on whether the feat is usable) then just say so.

You're the only one wanting to talk about the writer's intentions, everyone else is talking feats and things that actually happened.
Fact is, there was nothing in the show that would prove Jimmy's hyperbolic statement correct.
Originally posted by h1a8It is not possible that Jimmy was misinformed because the writer didn't want him to be.
Of course it's possible he was misinformed lol. It's also possible he was exaggerating, it's also possible he was misremembering. Heck people on these boards have misremembered the weight calling it a billion tons.

Are you claiming Jimmy has been written as some omnipotent character who knows all? No. He's written as an In Universe Fallible character. One whose not even a scientist.
Writer's intentions mean jack squat until they show it irrefutably in Canon. Read up on "Death of the Author."

It's not possible because the writer wanted Jimmy to be informed about it. Why can't you understand this? Jimmy doesn't exist. None of this stuff actually happened. There was no one to be misinformed but an imaginary character that lives only inside the mind of the writer.
Jimmy only knows what the writer wants him to know, nothing more.
And answer the question:
Neither feat is usable so why do you want to debate about it?
Originally posted by Silent MasterI kept saying the feat is unusable multiple times after several posters agreed that it is PIS. You keep arguing about the feat for reasons I do not know.

Maybe if you actually admitted that there is zero evidence in the story to prove Jimmy's hyperbolic statement was correct.

Ok people, we already all agreed that key feat is not really that usable in this fight. Let's just drop it.
That should be a legit strength feat. Sounds like Thors side is just trying to take it away for the sake of winning.

Because
1. There was no proof that it was really a million tons. We only have the word of Jimmy who wouldn't really know it was a million tons because I bet he never tried measuring it himself
2. It is literally impossible for such a tiny thing to be a million tons and not bore a hole through the ground.
3. Because if that truly was a million tons, that strength feat would be ridiculously inconsistent with how Supergirl is portrayed as. And when 99% of your feats contradict the other 1%, you pretty much use the 99% and disregard the 1% as an anomaly. Unless you prefer to use the 1% and disregard the 99%?

The first 2 reasons don't matter.
You can't use physics to discredit feats in a fictional universe. Otherwise, nearly all feats would be discredited.
The writer intended on the key to weigh that much. Anything outside of that is irrelevant to what is meant to be.
The 3rd reason has some validity due to the comic vs. forum rules.

I seriously hope you're joking with your first answer. Because if not then you'd be a ridiculous hypocrite considering the fact that you've tried using physics formulas dozens of times throughout your arguments.
