Rt is worthless

And so is DC, to be honest.

It's going to be massive.

Box Office, it has the markings to smash it.

What's weird is the apparent lack of marketing for a movie which is supposed to be massive.

Tracking for $60mill opening which is very average. Might be bad depending on the budget.

Google says the budget was 200million, which seems a bit low for a film like this.

Warner doesn't want to invest more in a failed cinematic universe project.

They're all about damage control now.

I applaud your commitment in shitting on the DCEU 😂

^^^ 😆

I'm hoping it's decent. It's been forever since a good Superhero movie has come out. The last one I saw was Thor and I need something to erase that from my memory

200 is defo on the high side. That kind of budget is usually given to either sequels of really successful films, or some event type movie.

You have to remember with a 200mill budget youre looking at around 500mill gross to break even. Could even be 600mill.

Not so sure that budget rule checks out, brosef...

Ironman 2008 - 140mil, or 193mil in 2022
Hulk 2008 - 150mil, or 206mil in 2022
Captain America 2011 - 140mil, or 193mil in 2022
Thor 211 - 150mil, or 197mil in 2022
Man of Steel 2013 - 225mil, or 286mil in 2022
Ant-Man 2015 - 130mil, or 162mil in 2022
Doctor Strange 2016 - 200mil, or 247mil in 2022
Wonder Woman 2017 - 135mil, or 163mil in 2022
Black Panther 2018 - 200mil, or 236mil in 2022
Aquaman 2018 - 180mil, or 212mil in 2022
Shazam 2019 - 100mil, or 116mil in 2022
Captain Marvel 2019 - 152mil, or 176mil in 2022
Shang-Chi 2021- 175mil, or 191mil in 2022

There seems to be more first outing films that are at around 200mil or over, than considerably under.

But you're right about these having to make 2.5 times (or more) their budget to be considered very successful.

^ Ah You Inflation’d me !

Still seems big for a project like this. Shazam’s budget was like half that. But then half the difference is probably The Rock’s salary !

Hope this can do that $500mill plus it needs though as I wanna see BA mix with Cavill Superman, the Justice League and of course Shazam.

Anyone seen this yet ?

So the visuals are pretty good the fights are nice.

There is not much story however... not many jokes...

The last fight is kinda underwhelming.

Also Dwayne is still a terrible actor he does the "serious Rock" impression through the whole movie and his acting skills make him look like a phuckin robot. He makes Black Adam's character kinda unlikable cause there isnt any acting at all.

Its a fun movie dont expect too much from it.

About 6.5/10.

Yes, really.

You know it, too.

They're shitting on themselves worse than I could ever hope to do if I devoted my life to it, lol.

I really enjoyed it. 8/10 for me.

Brosnan as Dr Fate was perfect. Hawkman was good to. Action scenes were fun and exciting.

Is it the best story ever? No. Is that Villain great? No

But I thought it did what it was supposed to do and did it well. Introducing Black Adam.

The mid credit scene was pretty awesome as well

Was overall meh to mostly shit for me. Aside from when Adam first appeared and we got a showcase of his powers as he demolished the soldiers/goons, this wasn't good. Really a series of cascading disappointments.

The serious lack of backstory and character development for most of the mains hurt this. eg If you're not a DC comic reader, you just see Hawkman as some rich Black guy who has an indestructible ship and he can do some stuff. Dr. Fate, some kind of wizard, maybe from space, with a nice looking helmet who has been around the block a few times.

Acting was bad all around. Even Brosnan who can be good seemed like he was halfassing it. Jonson who isn't a good actor, but can be charming in certain roles when the writing allows was a sourpuss from start to finish. He basically made the same semi-scowl through 97% of the film. This isn't the WWE, WB.

The kid was annoying as shit, he tried his best to mimic Freddy Freeman from Shazam, but that kid had some wit. His mom was hot though.

Atom Smasher was supposed to be the bumbling comic relief, but it just fell flat.

Cyclone was a generic nerdy-but-hot-girl. Her powers came off as just bad, visually speaking. Spins and spins and spins and some more spins.

Hawkman just wasn't very interesting.

Dr. Fate looked good, but he was criminally underused. He's supposed to be a big cannon, but didn't do all that much.

Final villain was atrociously bad. Looked stupid, sounded worse.
