Why would they be cleaning up our trash? Why not expand the space program and train people to be astronauts?
Bring people over that barely speak English, cant pass a background check, (yes going to space you have to be the top 1% of the 1%), and train them to be astronauts?

Honestly, if that was the national program, i would do that. Maybe a tax credit in return? Seems like it would be easier to directly convert tax dollars into public housing-- at the same time we would be helping our existing homelessness problem. (Which is also a better thing to spend money on than on a wall. )
So you are relying on a government subsidy to be a good Samaritan.
Im trying- making phone calls. Turns out the "adopt an immigrant" program is currently closed due to the shutdown. Maybe Ill just drive down and see if they will give me a few. Ill keep you posted about my progress in pursuing your completely reasonable scenario in response to saying maybe we shouldnt act like we are any better than another person who happened to be born south of a made-up line. Wish me luck.

Go to any Home Depot and look for people in the parking lock standing around, that speak no English most of the time. Then go use google translate and offer one of them a home and ask them to bring their family.
Got it. I just drove by one and saw no one. Of course, it's closed right now, but I'll check in in the morning and give a full report.
Guys, I did the same thing. But I was able to both adopt immediately from the US Immigration Illegal Immigrant database (with a house visit, of course, before they family would move into my place) and also I found several families in known places that were willing to move in and take refuge.
Now I have 5 people living in my home. It took me about an hour.
I'll work on getting them to become legal US Citizens, tomorrow.
