US Supreme Pizza Part II: Bake a Cake

Started by cdtm44 pages

Semi-serious question for those who understand/endorse protected classes:

Even if you agree with the concept, do you believe there's an element of "racketness" in this? Ambulance chasers hunting for money, basically?

If I was a Christian baker, you'd better believe I'd bake a cake for anyone, because I'd know damned well if I don't, I'll be on the hook for six-seven figures in discrimination suits. That's why I can't really understand why any baker would discriminate, religious or no.

I kind of wonder if these bakers are in on the scam, to help push legislation or whatever. It just all stinks of "manufactured controversy", because most Christian's are just people who honestly don't give a shit and want to sell cakes..

At this point even I have a hard time distinguishing whether you reprobates are lacing sincere perspectives with noxious hostility or if it's just meaningless shitposting.

Either way, I truly weep for the future of civil and political discourse.

To many personal pronouns, no one asked for manifesto. 😘

And there is no proverbial gun involved. He is facing a fine, not forced labour. If the baker does not wish to bake cakes without discriminating against his customers he can go and choose a more suitable profession, ideally not in retail.

That said I agree that people should have control over their own labour and who they dole it out to. A baker should be able to refuse an alt-rightie's racist cake on the basis they find it repugnant, just as Surt should be able to refuse to dog-sit for the person who kissed his girlfriend, even if it was only once. I draw the line at protected classes because though they do not have a right to that person's labour, this concerns the right to fair and equal treatment.

Since you don't believe there's a gun involved, what happens to him if he doesn't pay the fine?

The mental gymnastics are gonna be gold medal worthy.

Most Christians would just bake the cake. But people seek out shit to whine about. The tranny lawyer didn't actually want a cake, it wanted to hit this guy with another lawsuit.

And since it did this before the other case was resolved, I guess they figured if they came at this man with enough cases he'd just back down.

Seems he won't be backing down, and hey good for him if it is THAT important. I know it's hard to imagine it being that important. Just like it's hard for me to imagine grown men wanna cut their dicks off, but it happens.

He will go to jail yeah, for not paying a fine.

At no point will he be forced to make a baked good via threat of force. Clear?

For now. The Blue Wae is COMING! Freedom will Dissappear in the World.

Fire up the ovens. 🙁

Christians in America: forced to bake cakes... OH MY GOODNESS!
Trans/gays in America: there's an Open Hunting Season, with parents threatening a 12 year old transgender on how they will murder/mutilate them, forcing the school to close down for a few days... No biggie!

Truly, it is the cake demanding leftists who are ruining America with their evil love of pastry.

My lawd, forced to go to a different baker to get your damn cake, the horror! The horror! Lets throw a whiny b*tch fit about it!

Wait no, lets not even discuss it at all cuz we have more evil things going on. We can rid the world of evil *then* discuss the other stuff. Is that cool?

It's incredible how you think the main point of my post was the cake baking... It wasn't. It was the fact that the worst thing this society is doing to Christians is making them bake cakes for the LGBT, whereas the worst thing its doing to the LGBT is literally trying to lynch them.

Who is literally trying to lynch LGBT people?

I posted it in the Triggered thread. A bunch parents in Oklahoma discussed how they want to open "hunting season" on a trans kid, forcing the school to close down for fear of violence.

So the person that posted that actually went out and tried to lynch LGBT people? Was he arrested?

Jesus dude what happened was wrong but she was threatened online or whatever right?

You feel no Christian has ever dealt with that?

@SilentMaster
Supposedly, that's why the school closed for two days. No arrests have been made, as far as I know.

Pretty sure the school was closed because some parents legitimately wanted to act on it.

I feel like baking a cake isn't quite as bad as receiving death threats, yeah.

So he actually tried to lynch someone and the police are ignoring it?

Not necessarily. As I understand it: a couple posted a comment about facebook about this girl. They didn't not threaten to kill her, etc.

Other vile people responded with the threats.

That same couple has had altercations, in person, with the student. But not trying to lynch the student. But being a-holes to her, yes. Asking her if she is really a girl and verbally berating her.

Was that directed at me?

My cynicism is well earned, friend. It comes with age, you'll see for yourself someday. 😉
