We have never debated like this which is the reason future Gladiator showings doesn't belong to him. Let's not change things to make Superman look cute. We debate off of fts, so I ask, what have Sampson and Hercules done FEAT WISE to make this a special showing for Superman?
Yeah, but he has PAST feats before the All-Star Superman storyline....Not talking about future Glads, lol.
He's a dimension traveller. He's not native to ASSM......

Not really hype, no.This is how much rotational kinetic energy the Earth has:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rotational_energy
To save effort, spoiler alert: it's 2.138×10E29 J.
That's about the amount of energy the Sun kicks out over 10 minutes:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Orders_of_magnitude_(energy)OR, another way of thinking about it, the amount of energy required to keep Earth in orbit is more than that.
OR another way of thinking about it, is that he broke Samson's arm (who only had one weakness: scissors) and defeated Atlas. Who, IF we equalise across fiction, performed the same feat that Hercules did (holding the heavens up). And he beat him casually.
To say he is Herc level, when all he did was press 200 quintillion tons (casually) is...misleading.
That's like me benching 10kg (without hitting my upper limit), Bran benching 50kg, and saying oh, my limit is 50kg. When logically, there is no way you can infer that.

Atlas held up the heavens.
Woooow.
So we're attributing Samson feats from the Bible and assuming this Atlas could hold up the Earth and is as strong as Hercules based on nothing at all? Wtf? What kind of ass backwards logic is this?
This type of logic is baffling because if we were to assume a random Super clone Hulk f*cks up is as powerful as Superman, it's blasphemy.

woooooow indeed.
Read what I said. Samson had only one weakness: to scissors.
I was clarifying that it was Atlas who would be the guy who held up the heavens.
Stoic was misreading my post, and mistakenly thinking I said that Samson held up the heavens.
Jesus, does nobody understand basic English anymore?

Yep. Its bias at its finest. He would be all over any other character if someone else was saying what he is saying. I think it's the Superman front curl that make people go blind when debating the character.
Look at you, being all cute.
Re read my post and answer to Stoic. Lol at the attempts at trying to scrutinise. If this is the level....

Samson and Hercules in the All Star books is featless. It's pointless even bringing them up. Both would lose to Colossus if a thread was made. Hell, its debatable if they can even beat Spiderman. They dont have a single thing proving they could.
Lol.
His name is Atlas. FFS.....

Carver and I destroyed our brain on Dragon Ball anime. And I drink a lot.
Don't know what Rage's excuse is.

That part is the part I have an issue with. You said IF, but that's a f*cking huge goddamn IF.
I honestly did forget that Samson said that in the comic, I thought you were attributing it to his bible mythology about his strength coming from his hair because you said:

Regardless, what do you think that means? That Samson is invincible to anything but scissors and Superman...? Are you taking that even remotely literally? Because that again, would be a HUGE leap.

Could Hyperion, or New 52 Superman replicate that feat while not being amped up? Either of those 2 would have to be at least 3-4x stronger than Hercules right? Which goes to say that AS Superman in a super charged form would be just about average. Or are you placing AS Superman way up to Mangog/Validus type strength? (referring to, present day versions of both).
Just trying to see where you're placing him in terms of peers? Atlas can make one believe that he's extremely strong because he's supposed stand in one spot for all of eternity holding up the weight of the planet Earth, but did you ever actually see this? Could it be hype? Where was he seen doing any of this? and what does that say about the challengers that weren't sun dipped to AS Superman's degree and how much trouble he went through with them? Some things didn't quite add up for me is all.
The key would either pass harmlessly through them all, turn into a bomb that turns everyone up til Thanos into puke, or explode from the sheer velocity of the throw.
But then again there are the team showings and the solo adventures of... The latter they just get a bit messed up until they hit Mangog.

I mean, Morrison clearly views time-travel as the common denominator that links most of his mainstream DC works.
After all, A/S Superman's 'Time Telescope' allowed him to peer into the far future and make contact with Kal Kent(aka. Superman 1M):

On top of that, we know that A/S Supes actually teamed up with the Superman Squad to chain the Chronovore:

And that feat was directly referenced by Superman 1M in the original DC One Million storyline:
https://i.imgur.com/EVZmsok.jpg
"Just two days ago I fought the Chronovore with the Superman Squad -- Supermen from various eras who've banded together to defend the timestream."
...Heavily implying that all these events took place within the SAME general continuity -- just at different points in time.
And given that we know Samson and Atlas were casual time-travelers, it is certainly possible that they were the Silver Age iterations Morrison intended... As Samson said:

"When you're in the passenger seat of my custom Chronomobile, Eternity's the limit!"

That...is interesting? But it's connecting a lot of stray dots to try and attach a feat to a character solely by his name. Imo, that's absolutely ridiculous.
It would also get laughed out of most threads. I dk why this would be different.

Regardless, I'm not saying that All-Star Samson and Atlas were incontrovertibly their Silver Age incarnations. Just saying that it IS possible, given the cross-temporal facts/cosmology that Morrison explicitly established in the very same series. I don't think that is an unreasonable assertion at all, tbh.

If relativity is not taken into account then the velocity would still be significantly over the speed of light. If relativity is taken into account then the mass would increase to even more absurd amounts but the velocity would stay below light speed.
Personally I don't see any of these characters surviving a rock with the mass of a mountain (billion tons) thrown at them at even 100mph. Except Galactus.
Otherwise, average showings like Thing or Namor affecting these characters in the slightest with punches would be contradictory.
How do you compare this getting hit by the key to hyperion catching the planet going 500k Mph?
How fast does superman have to throw this key to match the same force if that planet was earth size and weight?
