I was clarifying that it was Atlas who would be the guy who held up the heavens.
Stoic was misreading my post, and mistakenly thinking I said that Samson held up the heavens.
Jesus, does nobody understand basic English anymore?
So about the context of Bar-El and his wife Lilo-El. Clearing that up would probably be a better means of discovering just how strong AS Superman was. or at least help to place him within a strength tier. They fought after all. I recall them doing pretty good for a little while, but was that due to the sun poisoning that Superman was going through, or were they legitimately able to give him a decent fight?
The weight that ASS lifted with one arm was well under the weight of the planet Earth. I'm assuming that Atlas holds the Earth up all year long, but without actually seeing it, there isn't any hard proof to say that he wasn't lifting a fraction of the weight of Earth, which becomes a possibility without seeing any solid proof.
So we have 2 different scenarios.
1. If Atlas can lift the true weight of the Earth, and not some replica. ASS easily beating him in the arm wrestling match automatically brings ASS into the planetary plus strength class with ease. Atlas gave his all, and was easily defeated after all. ASS wasn't actually even pushing, making it a monstrous strength feat for him. I'm leaning towards believing this version.
Or,
2 Atlas really didn't have Earth sized planetary strength, which stems from his lack of feats, and kind of allows for a person to ignore plot. Furthermore, Bar El and his wife Lilo-El gave ASS a tough time. Tougher than Atlas and Samson at least by appearances.
Determining the damage that the key would do, is directly linked to how strong AS Superman actually was. If we looked at it subjectively, it may do nothing but turn to dust the moment that he threw it because of drag, but then again maybe not?
The key had to be at least as strong as Adamantium, or an equally strong substance just to be picked up at that weight right? Then we have to consider what it was made of, and would it actually turn into an anti matter bomb if hurled at the highest speed that it could achieve before impact. Anti matter comes from stars after all. Then we have to consider drag, because a key isn't exactly a throwing knife, which creates friction that may or may not be able to affect anything as durable as this particular object would have to be.
The impact would probably destroy an entire solar system.
