So the first issue of Tales From Vader's Castle was as goofy as I hoped it wouldn't be.
So evidently this unnamed entity(likely Sith) was stripped of its physical form by the Jedi eons ago, and was able to return from the void with the ability to possess technology. Kanan then traps it in a holocron.
*Yes, canon.

I'm glad I don't torture myself with this new canon.
I'd like to think subsequent issues will be better(especially with the Dooku/Dracula book coming next), but I highly doubt anything good will come of this. ermm

Between TFOD thing, this and...like all the other stuff, I just can't with this new canon.
I won't say the previous canon didn't have silly stuff, but not all of it was apart of the lore. Tag & Bink was funny I thought, but it was Infinites.
Do you enjoy torturing yourself?
As a whole, new canon hasn't been terrible at all, imo -- to the contrary, I have enjoyed the majority of the content thus far. It is, however, pockmarked with cringey crap like this -- and with Resistance on the horizon, it is bound to take another nosedive pretty soon... So I completely understand why some(mostly those who were big fans of Legends) wouldn't be on board with it.
But I'll continue following new canon for the foreseeable future, because I'm a continuity whore like that. /shrug
