It's amazing seeing people get hyped over a page and then it turning out to be nothing. This happens all of the time. I'm on the side lines waiting with a smile (and a laugh once the comic comes out).
constantine about to face Lucifer
I really hope Lucifer schools him

Yeah, there's bound to be dialogue between them. Johns said that much:

Yeah, that's part of why the alternatives interest me. If Superman DOES hit him, either he actually hurts him, which would be hilarious (because **** the haters, that's what Superman does), or nothing happens at all. Though I think nothing happening at all from the punch is the least likely, considering Manhattan's thoughts of Superman so far.
Originally posted by AstnerSuperman don't do logical, though. Dude amps for a few seconds and becomes powerful enough to one-shot a 6th dimensional, trans-multiversal being. That's not logical, that's just Superman.
It isn't borderline stupid, it's flat-out stupid. The lack of consistency in the cosmology only serves to nerf it. Because of a cosmic being is knocked down by physical force, then he's bond by the laws of physics. They might be able to warp reality, but they're stil subject to reality.
And even Manhattan himself(who, as you said, is supposed to be even more powerful than Mxy) has been fangirling over Superman's power, and greater importance to the cosmology of DC, literally every single time he has appeared now, and doesn't seem at all surprised at the prospect of Superman destroying him with a single punch.
That being said, IF Superman ends up dropping Manhattan, it honestly wouldn't surprise me. I don't see how anyone who has ever read a DC comic can still believe that losing to Superman is a bad showing at this point(regardless of how powerful that character is)..? It is WELL established that, in moments of crisis, there are none greater than Superman in DC... It is what it is.
...But IF it happens, it will absolutely infuriate a LOT of people, and lulz-worthy lowballing/downplaying/temper tantrums will inevitably ensue. This is the way of things when it comes to Superman, unfortunately.
Either Superman destroys Manhattan, or he doesn't. It's that simple. What I'm looking forward to the most is the dialogue between them prior to that.
Regardless, there has got to be a reason why Manhattan cannot see any future after 'the punch'(no matter how far ahead he looks.) So clearly *something* VERY significant happens to the DC continuum either way. /shrug
That being said, the biggest "?" for me is still Ozy. He seems to be masterminding all of this behind the scenes, so it's likely that he'll be a deciding factor in how it all plays out.
well we already know what the continuity changes are
DC is making all their past history canon

Superman doesn't kill, so the safe assumption is that Doctor M. can't see his future for some other reason.
Either he kills himself, or the safe money says he stops being Doctor Manhattan. Depowers himself or massive warps reality so that he never was him, or stops being him past that point.
