I know for a fact he is.

No matter how crazy people call him, I’m still glad for what he did for the comic industry. He gave me 2 of all my tine favorite comics. League of extraordinary gentlemen, and V for Vendetta.

Moore is great, I just recently read through all of Miracleman and it was excellent. I just know he's mad because he has directly commented on it.

Doomsday Clock was pretty decent. Was kinda hoping to see that fight but oh well.

Anyone notice how Bill seems to have taken over Third role on the Galactic stage? I really like how him, Nova and Motrin are being showcaced lately

Also kudos to Negative Zone Johnny. He should stay there

Also the casualness and subsequent resurrection of Novas death had me loling. I'd definitely be bff's with Annihulus

Damn typo. Meant Thor's role

Never read his Miracle Man, is it that good? And how many issues?

Reading the rest of the books today since I'm off. Sentry did amazing well.

Soooo, Doctor Manhattan the most powerful comic book character ever now?? Even more powerful than Mxy.

Finished reading through all of this mess...Mods, I have one request. It will probably get ignored but hey, I'm going to post it anyways. I know my time with KMC is short, us Marvel fans are thin and I'll probably be the next to go but as mods, please do not feed the people on the board. I see Dark keep using Pr comment about me being a troll or whatever as fuel, smart tactic by the way Dark, but as leaders (yes, you are leaders), no one here should have anything from a Mod calling anyone, anything. You all are the examples of the forum. I tend to show respect to each and every last one of you, a lot of us do, I just feel like that respect should be brought both ways...even if you disagree with my posts.

The rest of you need to calm down. Stop freaking bashing people. If everyone here had the same opinions, lol, there wouldnt be a debate. 90% of you all feel the same way, let the 10% of us that feels differently speak our mind. DANG!!! Back on topic, I didnt read a single book from Marvel that was great today. Doomsday clock felt like I was looking at a high end movie.

Lol, no one is gunning for you just because you support Marvel, carv. Sure, you troll from time(we all do), but at least you typically stop when you're asked to and aren't an asshat about it... That's what separates you from the Albertos of the world.

And yeah, Doomsday Clock was legitimately great. 👆

carv buddy alberto was bashing everyone in the last few pages,we were retaliating because well...if someone insult you, you kinda have to go back at them a little bit

but I digress, I try to steer clear today, because I don't wanna get banned either. Y'all have fun, none of this is serious enough and really none of this marvel and dc shit matters a single bit in real life, it's just entertainment at the end of the day.

edit: galan ninja'd me

I don't think any of his feats are beyond Mxy's capabilities... But Mxy said Manhattan is beyond himself, and Lex said that Manhattan is the most powerful being he has ever encountered.

So personally, I'd still put Manhattan above Mxy. /shrug

Was Manhattan's feat of resetting the Metaverse greater than Mxy wiping out everything in the Omniverse? Or about the same?

Mxy's feat is >.

Doesn't matter who you are, you aren't topping that.

Doomsday Clock thoughts

Overall

Subverting expectations done right. The moment Superman started loading up his punch and Manhattan closed his eyes, thinking it will all end -- after he had spent time goading Superman into doing it, by explicitly mentioning he's behind all of his problems, including his parents being dead and having erased friends from existence -- only to see Manhattan's reaction - "Why would you defend me...?" was a perfect moment. Instead of the binary choice of destroy or be destroyed -- Superman chose the 3rd one, where everybody lives, "curing" Manhattan.

Superman and fiction

Holy shit. There's a lot to talk about here, but I'll keep it short -- Superman is basically elevated to a metaversal God. In the same way there's a fictional God (i.e. the Presence/Yahweh and whatnot), Superman is the God that the Metaverse forms around. Changes to him not only changes the main Universe -- but changes the entire Creation of Universes. And, above being the source of everything, Superman is also the ultimate protector against the enemies of everything. I wouldn't be surprised to see Geoff Johns read Morrison's Superman Beyond right before writing this issue -- since the ultimate idea being the defender of everything and getting as powerful as his enemy is in order to defeat him is exactly what he said -- and Superman being the source of everything is something that [as Galan pointed out] also comes from Infinite Crisis, which Johns himself wrote.

Continuity

I expected a cluster****. But this was very elegantly done -- Manhattan plucked the holes, he didn't tear down the wall.

The holes being things like Clark's parents dying, JSA not being formed, Superboy existing. And, after all is fixed, we get back to the exact same point we left.

The next part was a little harder to understand -- Superman is Golden Age, Pre-Crisis etc. versions. The Metaverse undergoes changes, but the same Superman remains there -- so Superman in the Golden Age/Silver Age was the initial state of the Metaverse, then COIE happened and the pre-Crisis history is tucked away in the 'memory box' of the Multiverse for Superman to continue in the new state of the Metaverse -- that was altered due to changes to him.

The Multiverse is the 'memory box' of Superman's history, as he goes through changes:

"I understand why the Multiverse exists. To preserve every era of Superman"

Furthermore, and it all makes sense once you understand that, this will happen over and over again. This is not Geoff Johns taking the piss out of reboots, or crossovers -- the mistake we've made is that we're looking at him explaining the metaverse and trying to understand it as a normal Universe.

In 20 years from now, Superman's rocket can't have landed on Earth in the 1980s to make him in his 30s now -- the timeline has to shift. So the metaverse, again, is reformed around Superman's history.

It's why you see this page:

Decades from now, when your grandkids read comics, Superman's rocket will have landed post-2000. He will be in a rocket -- he will be a baby -- he will have a sister etc. -- no matter what, Superman will still be Superman.

"No matter how many times Superman's existence is attacked, he will survive. Even if change is a constant. Because hope is the constant northstar of the metaverse."

The more I think about it, the better this becomes.

No, it’s definitely a good explanation for DC
The essentially made a good explanation

Superman is the anchor for each generation of fans/readers

It’s by far the best way to give Superman the credit he deserves.

I just said it was excellent you fat phuck.

Alan Moore's run was sixteen issues. It was really good, but some of the writing (particularly the narration) is done in a font too small, so it can be a struggle to read online.

Not my charming Bada. I would NEVER, EVA EVA EVA, direct ANY crazy messages to Bada. You are by far the best person I've met on this site. You're safe from my gamma rage. 😠

Question off topic: Why Carver put on ignore list to Darksaint?

Agree with this 100%.

Well put. 👆
