modern day mephisto is like late 90s early 00s darkseid, the new jobber king

With guys like Meph, you can never tell when he's feigning weakness to get captured as it suits his plans and so on.

I don't know the context here.

Even with all of his low showings, Mephy is still Marvel's supreme hell lord or at least very close to that spot.

I feel like this is all a thinly veiled justification so you can tell yourself it's all right to hate another race/gender/distinct group of people.

And jfc, Stan Lee would not be happy with the message you're getting from X-Men books.

just like how the X-Men are not the heroes to humanity. Just like how Spiderman is not a hero to J. Jonah Jameson.
The reason why it took the X-men so long was because they tried going the peaceful route for so long with a species that obviously didn't want peace with them.

just because the species that actively and openly hunt his species see him as a villain, that doesn't make him a villain

@PR, here Magneto even supports Jean in establishing a law that forbids Mutants from actively killing humans 🤷🏻‍♂️

and this is after Humans infiltrated Krakoa and assassinated Charles. So with all this humans have a right to fear shit

The ones you listed and guys like Dormammu (counts as a hell-lord, go figure), Pluto a.k.a. Hades, Satannish, Thog, Marduk Kurios...

Some of them are not legit hell-lords or they are death gods (which is a different category), but Marvel tends to put them all on the same shelf.

Mephie and Dormie are top dogs, I think...

Yeah I think Dormmy should be on top tbh

What about Shuma?

I have no idea where shuma is nowadays tbh

I think comics keep portraying him as Meph's only real rival, so it should be a toss-up.

Lucifer.

http://www.marvunapp.com/Appendix7/lucifergr.htm

Aaron wanted him to be the real satan, but it just doesn't work that way in Marvel.

He tried the same thing with the main antagonist in Wolverine volume 4, but he got later retconned to be Marduk Kurios.

You'll find more hell lords and similar characters on marvunapp.

yeah marvel lucifer got straight up owned by ghost rider

I dont remember mephisto ever lost a 1v1 battle against ghost rider but I could be wrong

dormammu is by no mean peers, dormammu has universal+ feats under his belt

the best of mephisto was destroying galaxies shaking universe and ultimately losing to galactus

Galactus weakened pwned Dormammu though and took all his power.

recently right? yeah dormmy has become a jobber as well

maybe stilt's right nowadays they both kinda suck

Big G was always meant to be that uber, to be fair.

Writers just gave him plenty of low showings so they could mess with Galan007 😖hifty:

You can't just cherrypick a handful of facts to justify violence against an entire population. That's what the KKK does. That's what terrorists do. Yes a good number of humans were horrible to mutants. Those specific groups and individuals should be brought to justice, and I don't think anyone here believes that killing those specific individuals or groups is even totally out of the question, especially in comic world.

I don't think anyone is even arguing that Magneto is *always* a "villain," either, as you pointed out, he can be heroic as well. It's more complicated than that. And no one is saying victims should stay victims either. Take out all the scum that perpetuate hatred/violence towards any marginalized group you want. Taking revenge out on innocent people, though, is the problem. That is was designates the behaviors as "villainous," even if the anger is "justified."

Innocents get killed by the actions of Person X
As a result Person Y retaliates, which ends up in innocents getting killed.
Every action has an equal and opposite reaction

History shows numerous of examples of equivalent exchange. Not saying it’s good. But it’s nature

Mephisto never fought Zarathos, though.

Johnny allowed Zarathos full control, so he could kick Luci's ass, if memory serves.

not familiar with GR, but he has some insane feats throughout his history like outright owning Dr Strange

Yeah, Strange got raped and Penance Stare'd.

And that was Johnny (who was still getting used to his new powers) who kicked his ass, so you can imagine how powerful GR is with Zarathos in control.

What? Nature and history are full of examples of atrocities. That justifies committing them?
