👆 Really liked his explanation there. Same with his dialogue while fighting the KoR:

THAT is how Luke needs to be portrayed in future stories: a bonafide Jedi Master/Force god. I know a lot of people hated his portrayal in TLJ(myself included), but there are still a few decades worth of storytelling potential after RotJ for them to explore Luke's character more. Hopefully they use that opportunity to wank the bejesus out of him, like they did in Legends. 🙂

I knew I would hate TLJ right from the Poe and Hux scene. I let a large groan after the “joke”

Concerning Fallen Order. Game was good.

Spoiler:
Vader was a beast at the end. All you could do is run or he would legit instantly kill you. He even holds back a flood/tidal wave back that would have filled up the Inquisitors underwater base

Every now and then, I remember why I love you, Mungi.

Felt the exact same thing.

And how did you feel about Luke milking the alien titties? Probably the biggest wtf moment in the history of Star Wars.

They can mitigate the damage, yes.

But I will never forgive Rian Johson for TLJ.

Speaking of him... any news on the future trilogy/trilogies?

I've seen the cutscenes from that level.

Indeed he was a beast 👆 Some nice applications of forcefields, too.

I legit threw my hands up in the air in defeat. I remember I told the girlfriend at the time I was so hyped for TLJ and now it’s over?...I felt nothing. Force Awakens had its fault, but I was still excited to see what would happen next.

TLJ killed any excitement I had and that’s the worse thing a movie can do

Best part is: it's all canon for Vader. 😄

Supposedly Rian's trilogy is still greenlit. 🙁

What I'm looking forward to the most right now is the upcoming High Republic material. They're getting back to the roots of the Jedi Order and showing us what they were always meant to be. Can't wait for it to launch.

Same here, same here.

Rian "Ruin" Johnson should never be allowed anywhere near Star Wars ever again.

So I've heard. I can't believe they really want him to do even more damage.

Project Luminous, yes?

Yeah, Project Luminous = The High Republic.

👆

It's set like two centuries before ANH, from what I gather, yes?

Yep, it's set 200 years before the PT, in the "golden age" of the Jedi/Republic.

Best part about it being set in this era is that it will feature brand new and original characters(thank f*cking god):
http://www.killermovies.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&postid=17119257#post17119257

The only known characters who *might* make an appearance at some point are Yoda, Yaddle, and Maz, as they were still alive back then. Outside of them, it's basically world-building that era from ground zero. Looking forward to it. 👆

ive obviously seen the star wars movies and shows, but never really been interested in reading any of the books or comics until recently.

is there a good place for me to start?

Darth Vader.

looks like there are a bunch of vader comics. which ones you recommend?

You should start with the 2015 run by Gillen.

It only seems like a lot. Those aren't long runs.

👆

Darth Vader v1 & v2 are great places to start. Even if you're brand new to SW, it's pretty hard not to like them... And if you've at least seen the films, it will all make sense.

There are also a handful of great novels I'd recommend, but comics are a better starting point for sure.

Exactly.

In Legends continuity, Vader lost power/potential after RotS.

In canon, however, his power only increased after RotS(in fact, he became more powerful than ever), and his injuries never gimped his potential.

There was a lot of enjoyable material in Legends, but it also had a LOT of complete failures and utter garbage fires.

Like Stilt said, the large majority of Disney content(from comics, to novels, to TV shows) is actually quite good... But it has also cranked out quite a bit of trash, obviously.

Because Palpatine was hoarding as much knowledge as possible for himself, whilst only giving Vader a small trickle of said knowledge/teachings -- just enough to keep him subservient and wanting more.

And given Palpatine's own ungodly potential, that would explain why he was always a notch above Vader.

it's just legends very much enrich star wars mythos, and gave it such deep, broad and complex history.

the old republic era alone...

Sure, but that's not really the best comparison. Legends material was being published for over 30 years, whereas Disney canon has only existed for 6 years. So of course Legends is going to have a much broader history to pull from.

I do think Disney has still done more good that bad for the franchise as a whole at this point, though. Outside of the ST films, Resistance, and Doctor Aphra(😘), most of the material has been pretty good on average.
