Why do so many people hype up this cut for a film as if the guy behind it didn't release two bad DCEU films prior? Man of Steel was bad, and BvS was abysmal (yes, including the extended cut).

Alot of DCEU films had flaws and misses. As do most films including most of Marvels. I'm excited about the film as I enjoyed all of them so far except for Suicide Squad and Harley Quinn.

Man of steel was not bad. It had its flaws, but it was by no mean bad.

One thing people did when viewing MOS, was that they expected the same Marvel style of actions, mixed with vast humor. That’s one of the reason MOS failed at the box office.

Now don’t get me wrong, Synder did a lot of stupid shit with MOS, from Pa’s death, to Lois being for in the ship, but for the majority, the film was a solid action flick. Till this day, the fight scenes were well done, and the destruction of Metropolis was a nice visual.

No, the film blew balls my man. It did have better superhero action than pretty much any MCU film though.

I thought you hated implementing any changes to the OT, let alone rewriting a whole scene haw-som

Anyway, I love the dialogue and I don't really mind how poor the combat there is... even compared to TESB and ROTJ, it was lacklustre, true.

There are some who really dig it, though. Like Queeq, who had ruled over the SW forum for years before Galan overthrew him and conquered his land.

The web is full of articles about the fight, one theory has Vader and Kenobi refusing to go all out against each other:

https://www.goliath.com/movies/why-was-obi-wan-and-darth-vaders-lighsaber-duel-so-lame-star-wars-rebels-may-hold-the-answer/

😂

That remake of the ANH fight is what I'd be in to. Don't take away the theme, or the storytelling of the fight. Just flesh it out more. As long as ESB Vader still toys with Luke and in ROTJ it still ends with Luke losing his temper, there's a lot of wiggle room I think. You just have to not **** with the story, or take important parts out of scenes.

Vader shouting "NO!" in Jedi is a ****ing travesty, for example. That scene works really well with as little dialogue as it has.

The choreography in ESB and RotJ wasn't horrible, until Luke Hulked-out and started swinging his saber around like Stevie Wonder at batting practice. But again, the poorly choreographed fight sequences of the OT are just a product of their era, and don't diminish the level guys like Vader are intended to be operating at in current canon.

Since it's all canon, we basically have to 'upsell' Vader's standing in the OT films, by remembering that all the beastly shit he's done in recent comics/shows/novels still apply to his on-screen version.

So next time you watch ESB, remember by that point Vader had already been: throwing AT-STs around like like children's toys, pulling apart holes in reality, tanking planetary destruction, cutting X-Wings out of the sky with saber throws, etc.

vin

Hey, **** you. Luke had lost his temper and was teetering towards the dark side.

but yeah, that's what I thought. I just hate having to do it with half the prequel fights too. With cgi as good as it is now, Mace V Sidious or Kenobi V Grievous could have been amazing.

I still honestly think Man of Steel gets a lot of undeserved hate. Does it have its problems? Yes, it really does. But it has enough good too, especially those action scenes (which are still arguably the best herald v herald fights ever put on film).

👆

Man of steel wasn't what I wanted it to be. Was it bad? Imo, no. But it wasn't what it needed to be or what I wanted it to. Part of the problem is the 3rd trailer for it.

That trailer is amazing. It promised a Superman movie that would have been perfect. The person who made that trailer should have been the one who made the movie, as they understood what Superman is all about. That trailer promised a movie that had heart, hope, fun action, and inspiration.

What we got was good action and a movie that did a whole lot of telling us what Supes is about and why he is important (Jor El's speeches) instead of showing us him actually being those things.

That fan-made video on youtube (cdtm posted it) is really good and it has gone viral. And Disney hasn't taken it down, surprisingly.

Be happy with what you got 😉

I'm glad it only happens in the Blu-ray edition of the film.

Lucas would learn a lot from Peter Jackson, when it comes to releasing truly enhanced version of his films. Adding new scenes and making the existing ones longer, leaving the original material (or at least 99% of it) intact.

To this day, I'm wondering why he has deleted the scene showing Yoda's landing on Dagobah and never re-added it (ROTS).

While you're at it, you might want to re-make the Sequel Trilogy fights as well already... 😂

Love the justice league animated movie. Just peeve that Lady Shiva got shown no respect. I didn't know who she was until Robin said it.

Question regarding Darkseid in the end:

Spoiler:
Was Trigun at full power at end grabbing Darkseid and throwing him into the boomtube? I understand that Darkseid has a real size form, does it matter against Trigun, since his demon magic can enhance his own size to match DS? How come DS doesn't know of Trigun or his lore?

The Flashpoint, it resets everything, but only the Flash remembers it? Does that mean Trigun is reverted back into Raven body? How does the Flashpoint effect DS and Trigun? Also, is Trigun from lower dimension plane than DS, but is superior to him in power?

A few things I was wondering, Thanks.

Where would you guys rank Doom's armor in terms of physical strength? Its been ranked at around 2 tons forever but based on his feats and who he's locked horns with physically...2 tons seems pretty laughable.

I'd say Stark level, at least. They always seem pretty evenly matched.

So whatever his latest one is at the time, I'd wager Doom is at that level.

Stark level when Doom is around Stark.

Class 1-2 when he's around anybody else 😂

Strength has never been Vic's thing.

Agree.

Doom's character isn't centered around lifting feats, but any time he has fought Iron Man, their armors are always depicted as equals(with Doom being able to gain the advantage due to magical shenanigans.)

Doom does have some brute strength feats, like this... But they are few and far between.

finished the first darth vader series. its actually pretty amazing and i love that art. thx for recommending it. 👆

gonna dl v2 today. does it continue directly from the first series or??

That's largely the problem with MoS, I feel. While yes, it has things you can say are objectively bad, a lot of people seem to take the stance of "hey, it's not the Superman I wanted to see, so it's bad". That's not the same thing.

Yeah, I remember seeing all the Star Wars channels talking about it. And it is really well done too.

Yeah, Lucas didn't know when to stop. Though, did you hear that he's supposedly working on adding stuff to the prequels? It's mostly rumour at this point, but it seems to be picking up momentum. The big example is that apparently in ROTS, Anakin will see a vision of himself as a Sith in the future before he confronts Mace and Palpatine.

That sequel trilogy needs more than the ****ing fight-scenes fixed. Hell, every bit of the new stuff that isn't Adam Driver can basically **** off.

It largely depends on where they got boomtubed to. In COIE, Apokolips (iirc) wasn't affected due to it's position outside of reality. Now, I don't know if that extends as far as being immune to any changes to the timeline (if that brings in some hypertime bollocks, someone like Galan would answer it better than me).

I haven't read v2, I just wanna say I also loved Vader volume 1. So good.

No idea. I hope that helps.

v2 is independent from v1. It takes place between RotS(literally right after Vader stepped foot off the operating table), and ends at least 5 years before ANH.

It is also really good, imo. Shows us how Vader acquired his first Sith saber/kyber crystal, and focuses a lot on he and the Inquisitors tracking down some of the remaining Jedi. Also introduces some new characters and Force abilities(#LordMomin.)

The artwork isn't as good as v1, but the story itself is top-notch.

You mean here?

I also had a look at his respect thread. He also crushes a (large) diamond in his hands.....

. That's pretty strong.
