You should start with the 2015 run by Gillen.

It only seems like a lot. Those aren't long runs.

Darth Vader v1 & v2 are great places to start. Even if you're brand new to SW, it's pretty hard not to like them... And if you've at least seen the films, it will all make sense.

There are also a handful of great novels I'd recommend, but comics are a better starting point for sure.

sweet i'll start there, ty👆

out of curiousity galan, which novels would you recommend?

Really depends what you're into, but my personal favorites are:

-The new Thrawn Trilogy(particularly the first novel, which is essentially the SW version of "The Art of War"😉
-Tarkin
-Lords of the Sith
-Dooku: Jedi Lost
-Master & Apprentice
-From a Certain Point of View
-Dark Disciple

cool thx.

dling the first vader series now. 😄

I may have underestimated Vsbattles.com.

Fans seem split on the punch Superman pulled on Forger
UsernameMan12
On one hand a lot of fans thought the build up and the family emotion behind the punch was great and the other half is very upset, calling it complete bullshit and an outlier. Power level wise it's pretty exciting and makes sense to me, and story wise I also thought the build up was good.

For me the story and writing are always more important than whether a good feat happens or not, and in this case I thought the writing was spectacular. It was quintessential Superman, and Jimenez' manga-inspired artwork took it to the next level.

some people think he went through galaxy worth of sun. Wait how far was Superman, was he galaxies away or Universes away? Or dimensions?

Hmm.

If the SW release calendar is any indicator, then it looks like Marvel might release all the comics that were delayed during the shutdown in one go.

Wasn't expecting that. Curious to see if it changes...

You'd have Yoda vs Dooku level fighting....which isn't necessarily a good thing.

Thankfully neither of them are two feet tall.

Yeah, videos like that are why i asked the question.

Oh absolutely. It would be more in line with that newer fanmade Vader/Kenobi fight on YouTube that cdtm just posted.

But even though the choreography of the OT films was complete shit, we still know the level they were intended to be operating at, thanks to their feats/accolades in current material(especially Vader's feats/accolades.)

Hey now, hold on. Empire and Jedi are pretty solid.

But yeah, you basically answered my question. We're told the level they're supposed to operate at, so we have to counter any shortcomings the likes of Kenobi/Vader or Mace/Sidious had to build a better picture in our heads. A kind of headcanon that expands on canon rather than contradicts it too much.

Let's not forget about video games:

Cutscenes alone are awesome.

And FO won plenty of awards, too.

Sounds like you're confusing it with the Sequel Trilogy... in which Kennedy was much more involved.

Rogue One doesn't stink, no. Far from it.

👆 I can't recommend Fallen Order enough. It's a lot of fun with a pretty solid Star Wars story.

It was made in 1977, c'mon.

Zombies in Night of the Living Dead were pretty pathetic... but it doesn't mean they were upgraded later in the Romeroverse... the sixties were simply a different time for movies.

Same with ANH and the seventies.

That's exactly my point, though. We know about the limitations of the time, so in our heads are we expected to "upgrade" it to better fit in with the current expectations of lightsaber combat so that we truly get the OP Vader vs Rebels-esque Kenobi.

So you know Black Zero?

Whole arc is a stealth feat for Metron.

Literally no one credits Metron for Black Zeroes feats, when the fact is he supplied all of his tech, and his little villian career imploded as soon as he withdrew his patronage.

So seriously:

If Shou Lao drives off the Phoenix Force, and Iron Fist taps the dragons power, shouldn't this mean Danny should > PF?

I thought you hated implementing any changes to the OT, let alone rewriting a whole scene haw-som

Anyway, I love the dialogue and I don't really mind how poor the combat there is... even compared to TESB and ROTJ, it was lacklustre, true.

There are some who really dig it, though. Like Queeq, who had ruled over the SW forum for years before Galan overthrew him and conquered his land.

The web is full of articles about the fight, one theory has Vader and Kenobi refusing to go all out against each other:

The choreography in ESB and RotJ wasn't horrible, until Luke Hulked-out and started swinging his saber around like Stevie Wonder at batting practice. But again, the poorly choreographed fight sequences of the OT are just a product of their era, and don't diminish the level guys like Vader are intended to be operating at in current canon.

Since it's all canon, we basically have to 'upsell' Vader's standing in the OT films, by remembering that all the beastly shit he's done in recent comics/shows/novels still apply to his on-screen version.

So next time you watch ESB, remember by that point Vader had already been: throwing AT-STs around like like children's toys, pulling apart holes in reality, tanking planetary destruction, cutting X-Wings out of the sky with saber throws, etc.

Is Devil Hulk Maestro?

Bruce wanted to start calling him that, but he was interrupted.

I thought not.

I'd respond. to the complaints with a story about a mutant cow being a super villian.

YESSS!!!!!

Snyder's cut doesn't exist.

I seriously doubt any cut can turn this into an actually good movie.
