Pretty much. Just seems really f*cking strange to me.

Rey has been studying the ancient texts she took from Luke...knowledge that has been lost for eons...but they're focusing on THIS 'new ability'? Jesus.

They're gonna fight without actually being anywhere near eachother. ....Sounds like a dumb concept to me honestly, like what's the point then?

I'd be able to understand them fighting from singular distant locations, given what we saw in TLJ... But according to those potential spoilers, they're going to *poof* into a new location every time their sabers clash.

Sounds to me it’s just gonna be some kinda mental battle and they re visit places. I can’t really think of what the purpose of it is other than looking cool, kinda like Rian’s hyperspace ramming thing. I guess it would also showcase how far they’ve come in a year, before actually fighting each other for real...which I guess is fine, but seems kinda weird. Guess to make up for them not really fighting in TLJ.

Yeah that's my concern as well: that it will *only* be for visuals and won't really serve any deeper purpose.

They're going to teleport to a bunch of locations while they're fighting?

Well, if you look at the lightsaber duels in the PT and OT, that makes total sense!

Yoda and Sidious were described to be the ultimate avatars of light and darkness during their duel - and they were teleporting everywhere!

The most important thing, and the reason we're going to excuse this and support it, is because it looks retarded cool - that's the most important thing, right?

However - if we don't get another pseudo-lightsaber-duel with Force Ghost Luke and Kylo, I won't be satisfied.

Imagine - if Luke is a Force Ghost and not even physically there - that just takes the level of pseudo-dueling to a whole 'nother level!

That would be totally cool.

Can't wait to see more Force Ghost Luke.

Disney rocks. 👆

That's been the entire Disney Trilogy so far.

I just want to see more Force Ghost Luke! So cool.

And when Disney publishes the new Force Ghost Luke novel, I'll be sure to rush out and plunk down my 10$ for it!

That's 10$ that could pay for gas or groceries, but Disney and their sub-par comics and novels of questionable-canonicity are more important. 🙂

The new Force Ghost Luke novel just came out!

New Force Ghost Luke novel by Disney

Just got released today!

It details the story of Luke's adventures as a Force Ghost and it looks awesome!

I will go out and waste money on it buy it and tell you guys how it is.

Edit: It wasn't bad! It starts off kind of slow but then builds up towards the end where

Spoiler:
Luke has another pseudo-duel with Kylo!

Awesome book!

Best two pages of reading in quite some time. Too bad I wasn't around to post about how much I miss and love George Lucas!

then again you gotta occasionally step back and remember it's just a kids' movie franchise

[B]And a prequel is expanding and preparing on the story to come, so do it well.

The prequels set up all the major payoffs of the ot. The sequel trilogy did not payoff any potential sets ups from the original saga. You can call the prequels garbage all you want, even by this standard, the pt does far better than the st does.

^ And the PT actually expanded the SW Universe, whereas the sequels preferred to just rehash the old stuff.

So according to Abrams, he consulted with George Lucas on the screenplay for this film...

Old news.

So did the Solo director, I remind you. And you hated it.

We'll all find out in December...

If anything I see that as pointing fingers when/if the movie turns out bad. It’s already gonna have to cram in a lot of stuff for a conclusion.

Thats all damage control post the Last Jedi backlash. With Statements like this are trying to get Prequel fans back on board with the sequels.

Not saying he didnt consult Lucas, but this is clearly damage control.

That's like saying you expanded the city by laying waste to the forest and installed a bunch of flaming tire pits. Sure it's technically true, but it would have been a lot better if you had just left the forest alone and stopped trying to expand a perfectly fine city.

The ST is like the artistic "visionary" that thinks repainting the whole city will trick everyone into believing it's an entirely new city.

And the GL special editions are like the psychos who want to bulldoze half the city and rebuild it with CGI.

And the Expanded Universe is the actual successful attempt at expanding the city. But there's like 100 different city planners and architects all working separately so you wind up with a hodgepodge of beauty and crap. And then a new government gets elected that cancels the program, fires the staff, and opts for the repainting plan instead.

Point being is that the city wasn't that big to begin with, or even that elegant. But it was still quite lovely. And I wish everybody had been content with it instead of fiddle-f*cking with it. Maybe move somewhere else and build a whole new city, I dunno.
