One thing I find funny is the cries from some on the left that are essentially "but why? why did he do this?!"Again, as has been pointed out, this is because this is a country that rewards victimhood. Also, Jussie is a leftist, he's anti-trump, etc. and I'd bet dollars to donuts the guy figured the Chicago PD would not look into this that much cuz he assumed they were all just a bunch of racists who hate blacks. Thus he felt they'd do the least amount of work they could...he didn't think they'd scour a bunch of surveillance footage and since he's the "victim" I doubt he thought they'd ask to see his phone records.

It's amazing how some people can't comprehend, actually. I said I personally believe Jussie is more likely guilty than not and if guilty he should face the consequences. I say "if guilty" as I know I'm not the judge and/or jury and won't be deciding his fate.
Don Lemon: It’s Not Jussie Smollett’s Fault He Already Lost in the ‘Court of Public Opinion’
Yeah, it's not Jussie's fault his lies were seen through almost immediately by anyone not suffering from TDS.

The most I got from that was his emphasis on The importance of public opinion:
“In the court of public of opinion, Jussie has lost. He has lost in the court of public opinion and that’s where his battle is, legally if he has to go whatever he has to serve, if it’s jail time, if he has to do probation, if he has to pay whatever, but in the court of public opinion, it matters,” Lemon said.“And he lost that because of how, and not his fault, maybe people were, I don’t know what they were saying to him, maybe because of his representatives. Who knows? But it was handled poorly,” he continued.
This is a look behind the curtain. These people (Meaning, people in media and Hollywood) live in a world where spin and pr image matters most. They live in a world where "representatives" tell you what to say, and how to rationalize literally anything at all. Professional spin doctors.
These people are fake. They believe in nothing, except the almighty "court of public opinion", and how they control what they think.
He tried to do this to increase this salary? Do we need any more evidence that victimhood has officially become a commodity? It’s only going to get worse.
We have created an ecosystem that rewards victimhood. We need to stop rewarding people for feeling bad about themselves and instead pushing ahead. This ******* went on TV and people chimed on how brave he was etc. etc.
I personally think anyone who is the victim of something, and starts running to the media whether it’s that’s Native American dude, or a #metoo movement, instead of the police to start a proper investigation, has a problem and I doubt their genuine intentions. Because it FEELS good, sympathy can be addicting apparently. F*cking humans. We abuse everything. All it takes is ONE.
T-minus 10 until some other ******* does this, and does it because they think they’re smarter and Jussie and no way they could get caught.
