Stringer, you are almost reaching the same level of zing as Lord Lucien. Top bashfest post of the week. Which reminds me, where is Lucien? Does anyone know?👆

I live on a small reservation and I’m hearing we got 11 cases in one day. At risk populations exist and given the myriad of poor health conditions in Native country and the example of how badly it’s effecting the Navajo up north this has the potential to really be terrible for some of the people where I live
I'm very sorry to hear this Carthage are any special measures being taken to help reduce numbers?

Trigger warning, Tim Pool video:

CNN Puts Greta Thunberg On A COVID Panel As An Expert?? This Is As FAKE NEWS As It Gets

YouTube video

Lol Greta isn't even an expert in the thing she's most known for talking about so I'm not sure what purpose she serves here and nope "she says she had the virus" doesn't cut it.

Not watching it but if CNN did this, it's silly! Greta has no mastery of anything. Has she even graduated High School yet? Whilst Tim is the most right wing self proclaimed liberal and proclaimed liberal by other gas lighting trolls. He may be right in this instance and not just right in his usual Alt-right sense.

Not at all. It was a lame comeback to my semi-decent zing. Everyone already knows I didn't change my habits or social distance since this lockdown stuff happened. Neither did most of Oklahoma. 🙂 So his reply fell flat and didn't warrant a reply.

I disagree. I think it's retarded to say you need a degree and 8 years of study and 10 more years of tenure (or experience) to be an expert.

This is another one of those things where you can study on your own time for about 6 months and as long as you have a good memory, you'll be more up to date with the research, methodologies, arguments, etc. than even most people in this field.

This is, again, my position on brick and mortar education being an out-dated way to approach knowledge in the information age. 100 years ago, this wasn't possible. But now, you have things like:

1. Researcher 1 is an expert on ice core extraction, sampling, and testing methodoliges.

2. Researcher 2 is an expert on extraction and has several legit criticisms on researcher 1's approach.

3. Researcher 1 publishes research with conclusion y.

4. Researcher 2 counters that due to the poor extraction methodology, the sample is tainted and the results are skewed.

That's an argument and academic conversation you can know about and learn in 5 minutes or less. If Greta spends the time researching these things (she largely does not as she is fed her talking points by 2-3 handlers), she could become every bit the expert on those panels as everyone else in a few short months. Assuming she already spent the requisite time learning thing such as thermodynamics and statistics.

It was that good then DDM... sorry about that 😉

That's admirable of you. I didn't think you'd admit it wasn't that good so quickly.

Thanks for posting this.

Also, I read that a restaurant couldn't get his employees to come back to work after lockdown ended because they made more on unemployment.

This is why I think a UBI should exist.

OK... Personally, I agree to a point about self study, however, I don't want a self studied Doctor operating on me. I also believe most of these children activists are either mouth pieces for their parents or raving autists. In Greta's case both.

We talked about this, before. Doctors and other knowledge + hands require hands on experience. Same thing with welders and all sorts of tradesmen. But fields of research and study that are purely about creating information, understanding, and knowledge? Not needed.

HOWEVER...

Even our surgeons are also going to become an outdated position. lol2

AI Surgeons and robotics. Diagnoses completed by AIs that are smarter and better at diagnosing patients better than any human doctor could ever be.

we have talked about all that in the past and generally agree. That does not mean we should always dismiss relatively well qualified people when talking in their own or others fields. Just Jordan Peterson.

Whats a UBI?

In the U.K. we have a furlough scheme where Employers get paid to Keep paying staff if theyre not working.

That way they cant say they want to stay at home when they open back up, because then they would lose their jobs.

Universal Basic Income. Just enough to be able to eat and live in a cheap place. The basics of basics. Coupled with a true universal healthcare solution, it lays a secure foundation for people to be able to survive.

You don't get situations like this unemployment scenario. Also, research seems to always point in a certain direction: people on UBI work more often. We still don't quite know why.

Even the poorly designed Finland study found that those who received the UBI were employed 7% more of the time compared to the control. This was a recent and massive study with 100,000 people.
