peer pressure. just tell her everyone's doing it. over 25% of americans are now fully vaccinated. almost 40% of americans have had at least one dose.
My county is ahead of the curve, 70% have had at least one shot
IIRC, there's still going to be about 25% of Americas who will not get vaccinated though.

Brazil and India... I'm starting to think our vaccinations may be worthless very soon.
the vaccination rates there are still too low for vaccination to be truly effective. Unless I've missed news about an increase in cases of as/o vaccinated people catching covid, I think it's just a matter of too many people and not enough vaccine. I recently read that india is expecting to reach a population vaccination rate rate of 40% in DECEMBER. facepalm

Even if vaccines are less effective combating mutations of COVID...it should massively limit the amount of severe cases....which is OK.
The main problem in Canada is that the virus is attacking non-vaccinated people...which overloads the healthcare system ICU beds...which is bad because that means other ailments that need ICU's might not occur. For instance, a younger gentleman in Ontario needed an ICU bed due some crazy brain swelling and in normal circumstances, the person would be OK...but there isn't anywhere to go because COVID cases are taking up ICU beds.
If the vaccine is not going to 100% eliminate COVID, at least 100% eliminate severe cases so if somebody does get it, while vaccinated, they might just have flu like symptoms and you just rest at home.
Eventually, the virus should go away. Vaccine companies have already said they can easily modify the vaccine to combat newer variants when needed...and with all these vaccinations happening, the system should still be in place to allow people to get newer vaccines down the road.
But as long as we can limit the severity, it should be OK>
