Jim Crow era racism was pretty scary though. It’s not really uncommon to have a story dealing with monsters or zombies or what have you but end up having humans being the real monster.

No doubt about it and I don't dislike those types of stories, but in this the year of current year...I just wonder how such a story might be handled.
