He really wasn't. It was at like what, 66-68% sedation when they started the journey? And the scientist said he wanted them to go light on the tranqs because he needed to be awake to lead them through Hollow Earth. By the time Godzilla showed up, he was fully coherent and signing with the little girl. He was even eating and stuff so it seemed that they just stopped dosing him after a little while since he was staying calm until Godzilla showed up. But that's all moot as Kong losing a fight against Godzilla that takes place 80% in the water isn't a knock on Kong. It's like being upset that a guy who can't fly loses a fight in the air. It was just a bad matchup. When they fought in Hong Kong he wasn't tranqed at all and still got demolished.

Mothra is also still around too, For those that remember the newspaper from KOTM. That's a possibility for something.

Mothra and a few other Titans still exist. But we'd need something equally as powerful as King Ghidorah or Mechagodzilla for it to be a genuine threat.

They literally said he was 'lightly' sedated.

Adrenaline and a dunk in the cold waters of Tasman Sea woke him fully up.

Kong lost badly. Twice. Even with a magic axe.

Minor nitpick, always hated the "lots of electricity acts like defibrillator" tropes.

Enough juice to power Vegas for a week should have fried every organ in Kongs body.

Movies almost never use defibrillators correctly

Well in this case it's a callback to how Showa era Kong got amped by electricity. Also the more logical case would be the anti-gravity engines pumped his heart really hard, as that's what powers the engines themselves so they can handle the gravity inversion without everyone inside turning into paste.

Yeah in this case it was a subtle call back.

The axe handle to the throat was a not so subtle one. Lol

Lol...People looking for accuracy in a movie like this.

I dont think anyone is looking for accuracy.

It was more of a nitpick as he admits that no one seems to understand defibrillators. Lol

Which ass beating are you talking about?

How did they do Godzilla wrong?

well the whole film was all about propping up kong.. first fight the humans got involved.. then you go literally a good hour or so before you see godzilla again. then godzilla gets beat up by

Spoiler:
mechagodzilla

they don't really explain why godzilla is evil..

They explain why Godzilla was attacking... It's because the the humans are building MechaG. Presumably Godzilla is tracking the energy source. Yeah, Kong got a lot more screen time but that's because he was the "hero" of this movie.

Exactly. Godzilla attacked Kong because he sensed another Alpha and every other time that's happened, it's been an issue so he went to deal with it.

And his "evil" actions were him reacting to Apex energy signatures as MechaGodzilla was basically running off of "King Ghidorah '95" and Godzilla could sense the evil space dragon somewhere on the planet. He never actually attacked people. He only attacked locations that gave him bad juju.

But mecha never came to life till he gained the energy transfer from hollow earth. So how did Big G sense him again?

He still had some sorta energy source. That's presumably what Godzilla was sensing.

Bernie said his brain was still active. He was a "living" supercomputer. Apparently Ghidorah didn't have enough left to regenerate, but he wasn't dead either.

And they tested MechaGodzilla plenty of times. The head of Apex said Godzilla had been chasing them since they brought it online. So we know they got as high as 40% and any amount would be enough to trigger Godzilla. They just couldn't get full use until they got the energy data. But even without it they were still using Ghidorah the whole time.

Ha.

I honestly need to go back and watch it again. I went in thinking I would be getting a film in the style of KOTM, but instead I got Skull Island instead. Kill the mood for me.

Kind of a necessity given the humans being point of view characters.

Godzilla scenes were less, but had more impact for it. Any time he was on screen was an "Oh, shit" moment.

I just turned my brain off and rolled with it... Had a good time.

And Kong's lucky to still be alive, Godzilla wanted all the smoke from him lol.

.....

Godzilla actually had a chance to mortally wound if not one shot Kong on the aircraft carrier.

Kong launched his superman punch but godzilla ate it and slapped the chit out of him. He was literally about to follow that up with a one and done atomic blast while kong was stunned on his back.

The fighter pilots literally saved Kong's life as they started firing right
then and there and distracted godzilla for just enough time for kong to retaliate and get back to his feet, and shove godzilla off the ship.

Was not disappointed. Great action, and

Spoiler:
monke gets wrecked
as I was hoping.
