The known limitation is that the target needs to be sentient. That was the point of the scene you're mentioning here. Went over your head somehow?
Pretty sure Goku does have like 3 brain cells, that's enough. Fighting, eating and sleeping.
AoApocverine did break through the misdirection, eventually. But it did affect him, despite his enhanced senses.
Same with 616verine controlled by Shadow King - whose senses might not have been at his best due to said mind-control, but he could still use them, as noted on panel.

So with the Horsemen, Logan and Fantomex went into Ship (having misdirected it). They fought a ton of goons in there, then the Horsemen arrived and absolutely destroyed them.
Only to find out that at some unspecified point in the fight (or maybe the entire time), they had been in an illusion, and whilst they thought they had been fighting Logan and Fantomex, EVA had actually been flying to another planet, and just dumped them there. They only realised they were duped at the very end, when they were at the planet, when Fantomex stopped the illusion.
Edit: Ship was at the Blue Area of the Moon. So that's interplanetary distances. She's plenty fast. And even IF somehow he breaks out of the illusion....well, he's in space, lmao.

Atom wasn't in the blast and he shrunk before the blast hit him. Nice ft but he gets blitzed here. Also, how fast can he shrink from 6 ft to an Atom? Is it faster than Goku could get to him or get off an attack? You're talking about Atom shrinking from an explosion comparing it to a guy at his weakest level when he was a child who outraced lightning and sun light. One person is obviously far faster than the other and the distance is only 10 ft AND as stated above, both are trying to take the other out. What makes this even more deadly is basic knowledge.

The entire time, no, as we see Wolverine is missing a glove when he considers killing Apocalypse Junior --- so some of that fight definitely *did* happen.
Maybe the misdirection started after the carpet messed Fantomex up - we see his gesture and he can't walk, even though he was relatively fine before.
Or maybe he was just weak from the misdirection feat itself, as he mentions on panel. Hard to say.
