Why would Beerus even consider Goku to be a God of Destruction when Goku mentality is never about Destruction? There are better contenders for the role with Broly and Piccolo being at the top. I know some people will probably think of Vegeta as a candidate but he has become a family man. Frieza is even a contender even though he would probably be more destructive than Beerus. I would say Broly is at the top since he doesn't have anyone, he's powerful and he has a little destructive capabilities within him. Piccolo as well since he's been a god before, he balanced, no family, and is powerful AF. Vegeta next followed by Frieza, Goku, and then Gohan imo.

Then Piccolo use a faster attack than this (FTL) and Raditz dodged it so quickly that it had Piccolo in shock, unbelief. This is the same Piccolo who shot a casual blast that made it to the moon instantly...

I'm sure those scans have been posted at some point in this thread.
But anyway, if you're talking about *pure* energy output, and *pure* durability alone, then it would likely take someone in the herald class to match those feats(as casually moon-busting/casually soaking moon-busting attacks isn't something I see anyone below said tier matching.)

Angels can spar with mortals and help train them to an extent... But they are forbidden to use their full power in a battle situation. I don't know why that's a rule, but that's a rule.
Merus(an Angel trainee, who is far interior to the likes of Whis) was about to activate his full power against Moro in a combat situation, which is why the GP 'erased' him. He wasn't erased while previously fighting/training Goku, though -- Whis intervened before that happened.
However, Merus was resurrected shortly afterward(albeit in a mortal form)... But I'm still hoping that he is utilized at some point in a master/mentor role(similar to Roshi in that respect, except he has VASTLY more knowledge.) He is too good of a character to waste.
