Because people have rejected God too much. Eventually it can lead to that type of behavior among other things. Some turn to homosexuality others turn to other sinful ways.
The man or woman who cheats on his or her spouse is another example. I suppose pre-marital sex would be another but that is very hard for many of us to overcome... same thing goes for looking at pornography, etc, etc, etc...
I don't believe those other sins mentioned are called abominations though. God specifically refers to a man lying with another man as being an abomination. He calls people who engage in that type of behavior "reprobates".

Ok, maybe I should've been a little more specific. I think I've seen certain animals (like bats, iirc) in documentaries engaging in some kind of oral sex. Not sure if it was male on male though.
It is mainly anal sex specifically, not other kinds of acts that could be construed by some as being homosexual, that I was referring to as being unnatural.

God didn't design a penis to be inserted into an anus. The Bible condemns sodomy... even if it's between a man and woman it's still sodomy.
Personally, if a couple wants to engage in anal sex that's their business and I'm fine with it but God would probably be another matter entirely.
