Cheney Unloads on McCarthy
Republican congresswoman Liz Cheney did not hold back on her colleagues today, as she blasted House minority leader Kevin McCarthy and his decision to remove all the Republicans that he appointed to the House select committee tasked with investigating the January 6th attack on the U.S. Capitol.
She pointed out that one of the two Republican appointees that House speaker Nancy Pelosi rejected, Jim Banks and Jim Jordan, "may well be a material witness to events that led to" the attack.
Cheney blasted McCarthy, claiming that he is working to undermine an investigation into the January 6th attack on the Capitol "at every opportunity."
"There must be an investigation that is nonpartisan, that is sober, that is serious, that gets to the facts, wherever they may lead," Cheney told reporters outside the Capitol.
"And at every opportunity, the minority leader has attempted to prevent the American people from understanding what happened to block this investigation."

it was all just a misunderstanding. all they really planned to do was to peacefully hang certain of our freely elected leaders whom they were programmed to hate.
Honestly it wouldn't surprise me if the vast majority of moderates would be happy to see every last politician hang.
Liberal or conservative moderates, united by hate.

Good on her for not being full blown deplorable like 99.9% of her party.
Officers Give Harrowing Testimony Of Defending The Capitol On Jan. 6: Watch Live
The select committee investigating the Jan. 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol is holding its first meeting Tuesday. Four police officers are giving testimony about the physical and verbal assaults they faced responding to the riot that day.
The four officers — Pfc. Harry Dunn and Sgt. Aquilino Gonell of the U.S. Capitol Police, and Michael Fanone and Daniel Hodges of the Washington, D.C., Metropolitan Police Department — each gave opening statements and are answering questions from committee members.
Gonell recounted the events of that day and the impact it has had on law enforcement officers: "For most people, Jan. 6 happened for a few hours," he said. "But for those of us who were in the thick of it, it has not ended." -snip

Sorry mate, typical Trumper logic here. Protesters storm the capital but its someone else's fault. Really?
Don't play that bullshit with me 😉 We have huge intel organizations that get involved everywhere on the whiff of something. Stating the obvious isn't pushing blame.
Dunno, maybe. We knew the protest was going to happen, we knew Trump and his surrogates had been pushing the election lie about it being "stolen" and we knew there were whinging and rants from these people on social media.
But I'm not sure anyone, besides Trump and possibly Trump's inner circle, who knew Trump was going to literally froth up and instigate his mob into an attack force that day.
The Justice Department decided today that Trump officials can testify regarding Trump's actions leading up to insurrection. So that should be interesting.
